I try to write 2-3 on a regular day, but when I'm really into the going, I can write 5-10.

It is hard to write every day, I am able to write 15 a day in addition to other activities.

The most I have ever managed is 50. Of course, quality is better than quantity. I suggest taking a look at rich peck's ecourse for a great way to write articles.

I suppose it depends on whether or not I have a good grasp of knowledge on the subject and how long the articles need to be.

Max is 50 to 75 a day for short ones, 30 for longer ones. But that really does take a lot of effort.

It's getting into that zone that is difficult, at least for me. Once I'm there and motivated, I can really turn out a few pretty quickly.

Motivation is probably the key thing, plus the results you get. It's a lot easier to pour a lot of effort in when you know it's going to pay off well. When all you hear is crickets, it's a whole other story.

Default Wow!

Gosh! I feel slack now! I usually only write 2-5 a week! I have a rutine of writing one (~600-700 words long) then I post it to two sites. The next day I post it to more sites or start the next article and then I submit the next one the next day. That's it.

My niches are super specific in a way though, so I have less about which to write and stay current enough for publishers to want to use my articles. I do have a good publication rate (~60% for number of artciles published versus articles written) and a large number of publishers using my articles (~3 times the number of artciles being published).

At least I think that's pretty good. After looking at these figures above, perhaps I am falling way short of the goals I should be setting for myself!

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Will

If you treat writing articles with the same discipline of a full time job, you can write a decent number every day. It's all about the mindset - if you consider it a chore, it'll feel like one. If you consider it a necessary element in your online marketing, it'll become a whole lot more bearable.

It varies so much..

it really is niche dependant and what knowledge I have of the niche...

Sometimes plenty, sometimes 3 or 4.. but I ensure they are powerful and worth the time I put into them... I have blogs to maintain and other tasks.. so it isn't all day task anyhow..

To Tirmizi and everyone else..With the high amount of articles that you guys are writing everyday do you submit that one identical article to multiple sites or do you stick to submitting one article per website, or just as many of all the same articles to multiple websites..are there any pros/cons to either strategy that you have seen?

I can only pull off 3-5 articles a week nowadays, but use to do 3-5 a day.

Well, i don't have a fixed number of daily articles.
On some days I write 4-5 short articles in a day.
Other days, just one (but a good 500 words), and
often none at all.

I concentrate my articles submissions to EZA only.
I submit to other directories if I want to build links
to my site.

I work on a schedule and write articles every other day! Keeps the content fresh and my brain from getting over loaded.

During those days I usually write about 20...depending on the subject, work load and length.

I can usually do about 10 a day, but I don't do this every day.

It depends on the subject - sometimes if I am really interested it takes me longer 'cause I spend too much time reading and learning! But then it pays off because I can take that knowledge and leverage it into more articles/websites/reports on the subject.

Well Phil, I usually don't write that many articles these days ... have got tooo much other stuff going on .... on odd days I write around 2 to 3 articles however as you must have gotten an idea from my posts , can't keep my fingers shut ...

When start writing about something .. have initial idea that it will be around 250 to 300 words and by the time i'm done with it , it usually is around 550 to 600 words or more ...

and about submission ... it depends .... on the objective of your submission , if you want traffic then ezine is best in the business .. howver if you are looking for backlinks and other benefits ... then it would be better if you submit to other high pr websites too ....

Hope this answers your question .. Phil

Well, when I built my last site, I wrote close to 20 articles for submission, but only submitted the first five. Took almost a week to get approval on them from eza, I have since submitted four more of them, and it's been about 4 days and they're still pending approval as well. I keep writing one or two per day and just keep them stored on my HD and will just continue to submit as I get approvals.

I actually love writing the articles! I never take it as a chore, but perhaps I am slower? As mentioned above, the length and time put in as well as the potential number of articles is somewhat niche dependent, too. I probably do need to increase the number of articles I write, but it also sound like my articles are much longer than those mentioned here (500 words being the shortest one, 1200 being the largest I think.) I am a Ph.D. candidate, after all - I write stuff!

That being said, can anyone suggest a straitegy for shortening a long article, perhaps making it two articles, or a guideline that will help keep me from putting too much time into article generatio if I do not need to be so lengthy in my content presentation?

Thanks everyone! This thread is extremely helpful!
Cheers!

I have to admit, now that I have tons of articles out there and they're bringing me in a steady income, I don't write as much as I used to. People tell me I work too hard and I'm trying to cut back. But I still write between 3 and 6 articles each day.

Usually it's broken down as follows:

3 articles submitted to EZA.
2 articles for guest blogs.
1 article for my own blog.

That's a normal day. Some days I just do the EZA thing or only 1 guest article. So like I said, it's between 3 and 6.

It all depends. Sometimes I write up to 10 in a day and other times I do not write at all but on average I would say about 3-5 articles per day.

50,70 articles ... how do you manage that guys??

I spend ~ 2 hours for 4-5 articles with 550 words each. Do you really write unique content or do you just rewrite the articles?

10 to 12 a day, without compromising quality, with enough research invested per article to target social news network votes. But then again, my motivation isn't to generate visitors or to spread links for my website. As a content writer by trade, what pushes me to craft as many articles on a daily basis are the needs of my clients. Whether such a motivation quickens or slows down my pace, I'll never know. =)

Hey guys,

I used to write between 10 and 15 a day, when I was writing a lot.

To be honest these days I just outsource it though, frees up a lot more time and my working day is WAY shorter than it used to be.

Took me a while to get rid of the guilt I felt for not working all the time lol, but now that I'm used to it I much prefer not doing so much.

1 a day...no matter what.

Except holidays, birthdays, vacation days, etc...

I guess that nullifies "no matter what"...but you get the point. LOL

How many articles do I write a day?

Not enough! Seems like there's always something else to do. I outsource about half of my articles now and use them for link building and I use my own articles to get the clicks.

I can write 5-6 an hour if I do not have to research. I used to spend a lot of time trying to write masterpieces. Now I try to target 1 topic and solve a problem in it. My goal with an article is getting traffic to website or landing page, and nothing more. With that strategy it makes writing easier and more productive in terms of numbers written.

I do just 2-3 articles a week (So I'm not a BUM Marketer)

Not that there is anything wring with that, just that I think that when I am creating content, it reflects my thoughts to the person that is reading them and if I am not able to take most of the peoplewho actually clicked on the title or began reading it to my websites, then that is a failure article.

So I'd recommend that lessen your efforts and make your articles as specific as you can! Don't just focus on everything comes to mind. Stickl to just one idea. And give good quality content.

That makes people look upto you.

One new customer is worth ten times 100 idle visitors that have nothing to do but click away.

And 200 targeted visitors a day are much better than 2000 untargeted even if you make equal no. of sales there.

It's a great idea to outsource if you understand what your time is worth in your business.

I always advise newbies to wait on that until they know it is worth their while outsourcing (unless they have money to spend)

Used to be 5 / 8 but I'm now outsourcing more and writing less.

Hardest part of it I found was not getting stale by writing about the same niche. I was convinced that articles I wrote at the end of the day started to sound vaguely familiar to those I'd written first thing!

Simply the best Keyword Manipulation Tool - Period!

Can I ask, do you write 3 version of your article and splice them up to avoid duplicate content on multiple directories?

Martin
Martin, it's not easy, but with practice and fast typing, you can get it done. All of mine are unique, but I write for other people, so it's a big variety of different subjects. (and they all have to be unique or bye bye job)

I certainly can't do that many every day, but I think the fact that I'm on deadline helps. I've managed to get up to 120 words a minute typing, so that does factor in.

For me, the biggest motivation is to keep the lights on, dogs fed and propane in the propane tank - so it's basically write or starve. Kind of like death or cake...

If I was writing for myself, it would probably be anywhere from 1 to 5 a day (and I might even take a day off or six!)

Hi Will!

I've found it helpful to break a long article like that into 3 distinct parts, and then devote one article to each part. If there is a subtopic in there that is worth more than a paragraph, then it could probably be pushed to a full length article if there is enough info.

Hope that helps!

Probably not enough, but I write only if I believe I can add something meaningful and interesting and not just for the sake of writing, which may not be the best marketing strategy, but on the other hand it guarantees good quality, so perhaps this is not the worst strategy, either. And I don't write those 350 word articles, but much longer, sometimes over 1000 words and most of the time over 500. And that again is a good idea, in my opinion, because I am sure the readers tend to appreciate informative articles more.

I try to write 3-5 articles a day, but since I home school my three children, some days the even writing one article can be impossible. I just try to remember that one day I will miss the noise and chaos (at least that's what I tell myself now). On a good day, I can write 5-10 articles though.

3 a day. The most I wrote in one day was 15 but your head is hurting after that

I am with you Martin, I can't imagine 50-70 articles a day. Maybe one day.

Appreciate that, but I'd love to add this: LSi is going to be the name of the game a year from now!

I've been online so long that I've actually developed a knack of seeing whats coming and where are we headed!

And as far as I think, sooner or later the length of the articles won't really matter!

What will of course matter is these things

1. Focus
2. Flow
3. Fast

As they say: A hint to the clever is enough!

Default Article Volume

I have some clients that write 5-10 articles a day but quality is a lot more important than quantity.

Make sure your articles are targeted to your readers direct interests and ensure your entire articles leads them into your resource box and you will get much better results than 10 respun PLR articles posted a day.

well I guess it breaks down to your personal objectives ;

what do you want to achieve from your articles. Most of the guys are writing tons of articles for getting traffic back to their websites. If you monitor your articles performance in your article manager module in ezine articles then you'll observe not all the artilces get alot of traffic " url clicks"

I remember I wrote one article a while back and it was on travel & leisure niche and that one artilce brought over 300 URL cilcks to date.... so for driving traffic you need to make your reader realise that he needs to find more of your work ..

so in this case Quantity will not matter... infact if you are writing more crappy artilces then you are just wasting your time and effort ...

However, at times your target is to get backlinks, website promotion then what your major concern is quantity ... and you are least bothered about "URL CLICKS"

so have to vary the number of artilce writing according to the objective that you have in mind ....

While writing 60 to 70 articles / day manually [ GET A LIFE DUDE ] LOL ............

I generally publish between 150 and 200 unique articles each day. Although I do, of course, use tools to create and publish them, not the ends of my fingers!

I just manage about 3-4 articles but if I already have a good knowledge of the topic, I easily go to about 7-8 per day

hanks CS. That was the type of suggestion for which I was looking. Some of my niches do not allow for separating the basic articles, but the trick there is tht I have more than one niche on whch Iam focusing and even the more narrow one, I m able to take a few spins on the subject and write longer related articles, thus can apply your technique andsee if I can increase my article submissions without increasing my work load and decreasing the quality of my articles.

Cheers!
