Question on Marketing After Taking a Nasty Hit in the Market

I'd love to get some advice about effective marketing techniques if one is going about a "guerilla" marketing campaign. The product in question has taken a huge hit by a competitor that has caused sales to fall off by over 75% in less than a month, and the client needs something fast to make at least a partial comeback.

Any thoughts on what would be fast and effective?

Already being used are press releases, "some" article writing that is going to the article sites like articlecube etc., and some forum posting.

Are there thoughts on something else that can be utilyzed without resporting to pay per clicks or other more traditional forms of advertising?

Normally "fast and effective" results cost money.

If he was doing any kind of serious volume, then I don't see how he can get 75% of it back in the blink of an eye with any free methods.

If the client wants fast action, that is going to cost money. Otherwise, it is a case of reviewing strategy and rebuilding.

Sounds like the client needs to buy lost trust in a hurry.

I'd do some recon. on the competitor and see if there are any loopholes in their marketing strategy that would let you squeeze back in.
