If you had money but no time...

What would YOU do if you had a bit of money to invest but no personal time you could put in.

How would you build your empire that way?

It's a bit of my personal situation but I'm so curious to see what others would say. I know many come here with no money and lots of time... I'm in the opposite predicament and not sure where to best concentrate my efforts.

Simply outsource creating affiliate sites on lucrative keywords that see enough traffic (search) volume and are also commercial in nature and outsource them for SEO. That way all you need to do is schedule management and outsource validation/management.

If you have money but no time and do not know what to do about it, your best bet is not to tell anybody about it. You need to find time to invest in your own education and then you'll know what to do with your money.

    As Warren Buffet famously proclaimed,
"Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls Royce to get advice from those who take the subway."

      Yep, well said.

Too many people try to get into IM with the thought that they can "buy" their experience and history suggests that it is not a wise approach. Whether they have money to invest or just buy up every product under the sun - either way there is the misconception that money can replace experience.

I've said this in other posts but I'll say it again here. There is no 'magic bullet' to Internet Marketing and no 'formula' that you can follow to assure success. If their were, it would be automated and everyone would be millionaires.

There are great courses and educational material and suggested paths and techniques, etc... but in the end, "good judgment" is required. And good judgment is the result of experience. And experience is simply the result of having screwed up a lot and learned from it and survived to continue the journey.

That is why 'experience' cannot be bought and why you're not able to develop 'good judgment' without it - the screw ups and lessons are necessary building blocks to the whole process.

So hold onto your money or put it in a bank and wait until the point that you can actually invest TIME instead of money. Most all of the lessons you need to learn do not require money or much of it, but they do require time.

Just my $.02 worth... hope it helps...

Well if you have even one site and it is not ranking high then i would advice you to outsource content and post that on your website..
OR you can start a new website by outsourcing content and posting on your website...
Then post to various networks and directories and get powerful backlinks....

I had to be a downer, but if you really don't have time and can't find extra time. Internet marketing, and even outsourcing, really isn't for you. Since you'll need to manage the workers on your team, or even manage a the manager managing your team. Otherwise you'll wake up one day and wonder how you've spent so much and received so little.

There are some Joint Ventures that you could potentially invest in as some are only looking for capital partners. Obviously though, there's risk involved as you may not see your money again.

If you have a lot to invest, you could even look into angel investing.

Investing money is a personal choice. You have to take a look at all your options, and, decide what is the best fit for your money regardless if you decide online, or, offline. Example: would you invest in tobacco, or, would you rather invest in a fuel that would alleviate pollution problems.

    Your decision ultimately.

I am sure you will make the right decision for you. Good Luck.

I would buy web sites that already make money and then improve them to make even more money.

Find a web site that makes $10,000 per year. Understand the whole process. Make sure it is not labor intensive. Get complete write ups from current owner and the outsource the whole operation.

$10,000 is just an example. It could be $50k or $500k per year. It just depends on your budget.

How to make go about improving a web site?

Your target web site should be lacking certain things. One thing that VERY often is missing: a mailing list. Most web sites have some kind of mailing list but very often this aspect is neglected. The owner collects emails and sends out 1 email par year to announce that the server is being upgraded for example.

Here is where you "expertise" comes in. You buy the site and add make sure that mailings go out on a regular basis. Result: you just increased the profit by 10%, 20%... all the way up to 300%.

To add a mailing list is just one example. There are many other things that you can do to improve a web site and it's bottom line (fast).

      Agreed.

And pay qualified internet marketers an hourly wage to grow the sites. Don't forget the non-disclosure and no-compete contracts.

I'd buy a long keyword domain name that isn't difficult to rank for and back link the hell out of them lol... all linking to one same niche(make sure it's a helpful product) and you're almost guaranteed success... Get someone who will make videos about it and distribute them through tube mogul so you can save time. Have someone to make blogs and articles all day long and go to forums and talk and answer questions about your niche (be very honest, honesty is key), use ping farm and pingomatic once a month... make a facebook fan page, all of this will be on your one niche... you'll make great money. Guaranteed. Good luck and much success.

My answer would be in my sig. I can setup my niche specific domains in 30 minutes to an hour - get them indexed in a day. You get all the content from your sponsor, get the domain in Google then if you're not high up on page 1 you get back links to move up. Once they start generating 15-25 and 100 uniques from Google everyday, you move on and rinse/repeat. I've had more success in this market than any other with finding domains and markets.

The only other legit way I know of is to generate leads using PPC but you gotta have lead buyers and it takes time and money to perfect your PP Campaigns to where you actually make money and don't lose it. I kind of rambled, but oh well.

It's a little tough to say since there is no scale to your premise - ie.... "you have money, but no time" certainly doesn't mean you have unlimited funds and absolutely zero time.

I'd caution against building a business around outsourcing if you truly don't have time to manage it. While working with outsourcers is awesome, I've met very few fellow warriors who've not had to put more time in with an outsourcer their first time round than they would have put in had they done it themselves. You only experience the efficiencies when they are "in the groove" so to speak.

It also depends on your skill set and temperment. If you are a visionary with good business ideas, but poor on execution, then I'd find a couple young, production oriented young bucks to partner with - one webmaster and one affiliate manager (ie.. pay them a small base plus a percentage of sales). Then start building a publishing and affiliate marketing empire focusing on building out a niche at a time - each with a different set of "partners" so that you maintain control and don't fully educate them on the end-to-end operations.

Another approach is to focus on a low-end membership site. Decide on a profitable niche, hire out the rewrite/product compilation from some quality plr or public domain material and hire out the web production. Then find an affiliate manager to work as a master affiliate for a top level scrape of profits. Beyond the base of $3/month per subscriber (your cut off a $7 membership) you'll be building, you are also building a list and audience for affiliate offerings, special reports, webinars, etc... Just make sure your audience is truly niche and that you serve them well.

For me, the key in outsourcing is to have several outsourcers perform different functions. Because if an outsourcer can do it all themselves, then (a) they will decide that they would rather do it themselves and keep all the marbles or (b) they aren't any good or else they'd already have money enough from doing it for themselves.

Just my thoughts. Hope it helps,

    Thom

ThomScotts seems to be the only guy that actually read what the OP had posted. How could this guy possibly have any success outsourcing something that he probably doesn't know much about and doesn't even have the time to manage whats outsourced to begin with? You need to have time to map ideas out, monitor results, and outsource the tasks. This guy apparently doesn't have it, so how could he do that successfully?

    Hey,

I'd say outsource all the stuff you need, but that can be a bit of a problem if you don't already know what needs to be done to make an internet business work.

So here's my answer in 2 parts...

    1. If you already know what it takes to do internet marketing but for whatever reason just don't have the time to do it all yourself then I'd say hire people to do it for you. But you have to be able to tell them what to do and how you want it done.

You can't just "hire an outsourcer" and expect them to know what to do. They require training just like any other employee and if you don't know enough to do the job yourself you'll never be able to effectively communicate your needs to your employees.

This will end up with you and your employees having a bad experience because they get no direction on what to do from you, and you'll get sub par and ineffective work handed in. Both of which are, in the end, your own fault.

    2. If you have money but don't know how to get a "internet business" started from scratch, I'd suggest you find a good mentor or business coach first. Someone who knows how the business works and who can tell you what to have your employees do.

That way you can get the ball rolling now without having to invest many hours of your time learning the ropes. The bonus to this method is that you can learn the business as you go along, and you have someone's experience to guide you, so you have less chance of making costly mistakes.

    Hope that helps,
    Tony.

First understand what is that you want to sell or promote. Is there a viable market for and who else is doing a similiar idea.

Then you can do a comparative benchmark on them and get the basic online for starting a web presence with your end product in mind. Then with the cash you can do a mass PPC campaign, outsource link building and advertise on numerous domains to drive traffic to your site.

You'd probably be much better off in the long-term if you used some of your "bit" of money to outsource some of whatever is eating up your time now.

Then go at IM precisely the same way everyone else does - learning the basics first-hand - and use part of your monetary cushion merely to accelerate the normal process and progress - e.g., high-end coaching.

Just as in the brick-and-mortar world, you can buy an existing business, but that's only going to work for you if you know how to run that business or can learn how on-the-job. Otherwise, like the brick-and-mortar world, you're only throwing money away and wasting your time.
