Anyone do Print-on-Demand stuff?

I have a friend who wants to sell a booklet from a website (physical product).

One option for customers is to buy the booklet as is, one-at-a-time, or (preferably) in bulk.

Another option for customers is to have part of the booklet customized (with photo(s) they provide) before it's printed & shipped.

My friend isn't tech or Internet-savvy. He'd like as simple a solution as possible to sell the booklet from his site; have a shopping cart or something like that automatically calculates shipping, tax, whatever; then gets the product produced (printed) and sent to the customer.

I took a look at a service called Vervante -- anyone familiar with that, or something similar that might do the trick?

      Well selling booklets can be in many forms either digital or physical shipments. There several customised websites that can help in doing this. WordPress eCommerce platform will help you set up all of this details including shipments, taxes, number of copies etc. The book can either be digital or physical "paperback or hard cover". then you do promotions on web forums, blog or on line banner websites

    Whilst I havent myself personally, its certainly something Im going to consider at some point.

    You might want to do two things.

    Firstly take a look at ....

    On Demand Printing | Corporate Disk Co. (simply as another option to Vervante)

    And secondly, run a search here....you're bound to find something.

    Haven't used them myself but lulu.com gets good reviews also Amazon do a print on demand service but I am not sure if it will print small booklets but if they did it would make distribution,marketing and taking payments easy.
