Which country to affiliate market in
I have a question for the seasoned internet marketers out there, in particular the affiliate marketers. I'm starting out as an affiliate marketing however i've already hit my first stumbling block - payment issues.
I'm based in the UK and will be marketing in the US as it's a larger market, however i've just thought about potential issues, namely when i get paid in US dollars (cheque) i will have to pay not only fees for cashing them in but also bad exchange rates at the bank.
Is it really worth me targeting the US market and paying out potentially large amounts of my income as fees and bad conversion rates, or should i market in the country i live in and thus incur none of these costs; however the only problem then is a smaller target audience.
I'm using Amazon US and cannot transfer money into my account in sterling - also i need to take into account the £7 cap for Amazon UK.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Regards,
Nick.
