Link Sharing
Hello there,
Anyone here familiar with link sharing sites? These are sites where you get others to link your site in excahnge for your own participation. I've asked this question several times here, but for some reason, most respond telling me that what I'm describing is social bookmarking. I assure you I am not. In fact, here's a list of some of the sites I've seen recommended by others:

Now, browsing through the archives, I hear mixed messages. I've heard some members claim that using sites such as these will result in a slap from Google. Others have claimed this works wonders, and you'd be dumb not to use such resources. So my question is essentially asking for some feedback from both sides of the coin.
How could Google track that these are link shares if you stay relevant, and ultimately mix up your links fairly well? I'd love to use a resource such as this, but I'd hate to risk my current rankings as well. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
