General Guidance needed!

Just finished school and I want to get into IM over the summer; if all goes well continue it after summer when i go to college to earn a small amount of money.

So basically what I need from the users of WF is a list of pointers and goals which I should be aiming for at the start of this journey. (Anything will help at this point )

    Be ready to put in a lot of work to be successful. Most people think they can do this on the side and make some money easy, but then later realize it is much harder than excepted.

      I agree with ArticleFrost. It is very important to manage your expectations. Don’t give up when you do not manage to make the amount of money you hoped for.
      Be committed to be successful and persevere until you are.
      And most important,make sure you take constant action to achieve your goal.

    1. Spend a whole month researching any and everything involved in Internet Marketing

    2. Assess and list your own skills/resources and things you are good at/enjoy doing/have interest in

    3. Based off of one and two, decide on an area within IM/making money online that is most suitable to you

    4. Invest in the best rated product relating to the specific area of IM you want to get in to (check WSOs)

    5. Spend a week pouring through that product, studying it, taking notes and planning what you will be doing to be successful in this field including setting up small daily and weekly tasks for yourself that you will commit to complete no matter what and will be essentially to growing your IM business/driving traffic/getting leads etc.

    6. TAKE ACTION!

    7. Don't give up and you will very likely be able to generate enough money to make it worth your effort.

      That seems to be the hardest part of the whole thing for me at the moment actually getting started as I don't know if I'm prepared enough yet or If I've read through enough articles/threads to boost my knowledge up.

      Guess the only way to find out if I'm prepared enough is to just go ahead and get started if it fails it's not a great loss at first I suppose it will just be a learning curve for me to understand what I did wrong and need to improve on.

    Its important to take action. Only reading won't get you anywhere but yeah its important to know what you are doing so reading is important but these things should go side by side.
    For eg- If you are into website making. Then just create a free blog on blogger or wordpress and side by side learn how to do SEO and link building.

    You said you want to earn a small amount of money - however I recommend you focus more on automation and outsourcing. Outsource your website creation and SEO services and then sit back and enjoy the profits. By summer's end, you should be at or near the top of the search engines for your niche websites.       Right, so I've come to the conclusion that next week I'm going to buy the hosting and the domain; basically to force myself to get started.

      If anyone could post any good affiliate/product websites which are the safest to use and most reliable I'd be very greatfull!(Amazon is a no-go as it requires you to be 18 and unfortunately I'm not; maybe register it under a guardian but do everything myself?) I'm from the UK so I'm guessing that UK based affiliate websites would be the best?

      I think that I will be getting the Hosting for the website from 'HostGator' and the Domain from GoDaddy and I'm guessing I use the latest version of WordPress?

      What is the best way of collecting your earnings?(Not that I'm going to get a great deal if I do get some) Paypal; If so does it have to be a certain type of Paypal and does it require me to have linked it with my bank account before I get started or is that a thing which I can do while getting started?

      That's all for now I believe. If anyone could be kind enough to answer my queries I'd be very thankful. Most likely missed something which I was meaning to ask however this shall do for now!

    I would suggest going into freelance writing as a way to make some money online. It is what I do, and I earn quite a bit of money from it.     I should have read your last post first, but I can recommend HostGator. I use them to host my site and they are very good. Just don't freak out if your site doesn't show up right away, they will call you so that you can activate your site over the phone.

    Reasearch will be the key for you to start an IM business. Believe me, I tried all the shortcuts but no effort, no money.

    1. Find something that interest you and reserch who is searching for this online
    2. Check some keywords and see if it would be worth making a product to help someone find a solution to their problem
    3. Find a good keyword rich domain name and buy it
    4. Get a web hosting account, I use hostgator
    5. Then research some more on where to go next

    One baby step at a time

    The hardest part in IM is the taking action part ...

    There will always be a good method and a good way to make a bazillion dollars online, but if you don't start it there will be nothing good out of it. The step to the success ladder is the first step.

    Seriously, there's a reason 99% of successful marketers say this!

    Some do okay without it, but you have a much better chance of making money over the summer if you build relationships with people.
