How to Host a domain?

Hi,

I purchased few domains from Myzoz.com. All are the domains by proxy(private). I want to host these domains. What should I do?

Did I make any mistake by purchasing it as domain by proxy(private). Should I've gone for the domain only. Does this affect if I want to sell my domain? Is there any cost involved in selling the domain?

Kindly help.
Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by proxy domains...

If it's just a regular domain you should be able to host it on any shared hosting plan no problem

Hit up any hosting site. I use byet hosting, others use HostGator some even trust their life with JustHost. Whatever you don't host with Godaddy!

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

Hi zxcvb - my understanding is that when you purchase a service to keep your domain name private, the domain-name is registered not in your name but in the name of someone who will keep the registration on your behalf. Hence the term proxy.

Technically, you are not the legal owner and in the past this has caused owners problems when the company holding the domains has gone bankrupt. However, these days, any company who is accredited to offer this services has to hold your domain name "in escrow" on your behalf and if they go bust the domain names have to be transferred to another accredited domain-name holder.

So, all-in-all, form your perspective your domain name is safe and yours to do as you like with - tho' keep it legal ;-)

Personally, I tend to go for personal privacy as you have done and also keep my domain provider(s) and host(s) separate. I feel it gives me more flexibility - for example when changing hosts.

All you need to do now is to sign up with a host and point your domain to their nameservers. Practically all hosts allow you to do this but you could check for safety.

The process is a little "techie" but quite straightforward. Your hosting account provider will give you the names of the nameservers. Then you need to go to your account with myzoz.com and change them.

Myzoz will most like have a faq or even a video if you are lucky, to tell you how to do it. Other than that, I'm sure they have a reasonable support desk who can assist.

You should have no difficulties should you want to sell the domain and as for costs - well if you have a decent domain name the other person will have the cost!! There is no cost to transfer a domain as far as I know. Some providers will charge you to transfer away from them but if you sell, leave it with the current domain-name provider. The new purchaser can always move it if they wish.

Again, I'm sure myzoz support would be willing to assist and advise and if your really worried about this nameserver stuff, I think you can host with myzoz

    Good Luck

I guess this is something that called "privacy protection", and it does not prevent to host your domains wherever you want. Get a web hosting, change name servers, and you're all set.

If you are looking to host your first domains, you need a domain host. You signup for an account with a domain host and use their name servers to point your domains to your new account.

Once you've done this you can type in www .yourdomain. com and it will load whatever information you have stored on your host. Choosing a host can be a daunting task due to how many of them there are.

Best thing you can do is look for recommendations, I heard many great things about Host Gator, so I signed up with their service and have been very satisfied with the cost and performance of my hosting plan.

I wrote a full review of Host Gator that you can read to see if they will meet the needs of your site, you can view it here:

You have to sign up for a hosting package. I use either hostgator or hostmonster. Stay away from Godaddy for hosting.

Then you go to your registrar (where you registered the domains) and change the nameservers over to your hosting nameservers.

If you want to then build a site on them, you go to Add On under the domain section of your cpanel and add the domains to your hosting.

They are now ready to upload files, build a wordpress blog or whatever.

Having privacy on the domain doesn't affect it in the serps or for selling it.

I highly recommend HostGator. Their customer support is world's better than other "cheapie" hosts I have dealt with in the past and they have all the bells and whistles you'll need. Also, easy to upgrade and they'll even move files for you.

I also recommend against using the same company for domain name registration and hosting - if there is ever a problem with either, you'll understand why

      Good luck!

Myzoz.com looks like Godaddy domain reseller, so you should be fine with your domain registration.

As for domain hosting, you can host them either on a shared hosting account with addon domain option or get a reseller account to host those accounts. All you need to do is make sure you can update the nameserver, so you can point those domain to the hosting provider.
