Default How to Create a Hyperlinked Table of Contents

This is kind of funny and kind of embarrassing. For years and years I’ve been creating eBooks – but I’ve never known how to create a hyperlinked Table of Contents. I thought it looked really cool, and offered convenience to the reader, but I skipped it because I just didn’t know how.

I never even Googled it. Laziness I guess!

Anyway, I found out how and made a short under 2 minute video tutorial. If you don't know how to either, watch and learn - it's a breeze!

Sometimes the simple stuff feels SO complex.

Thanks Tiff!

I like to add a clickable TOC as well, but my method is more labor-intensive. That's only because I don't know how to change the default font/color for Heading 1 in OpenOffice.

What I do is create each heading as a bookmark, then type out the TOC, then link to each bookmark. One of the problems is that my TOC needs to be typed in a monospaced font, so it stands out a bit. But, I like to make the TOC clickable to make my products easier for readers.

All the best,
Michael

Thanks Tiffany for this good tutorial.

Just one remark, you speak too fast, I've not been able to hear your domain name at the beginning of the video. I suppose I'm not the only one.
Maybe you could add your URL at the bottom of the video. After all, it's still good to have some free publicity.
