The emerging mobile market - then package the site with a mobile website. There are a host of places to get stats but I have some really juicy ones on mobile. Unfortunately they are not letting me link yet - but you can PM for the link if you like.

Whether its dating, porn or get your ex back, it always hot stuff. Dudes just cant resist clicking on a hottie, myself included. I click on those Facebook Ads with hot girls all day! LOL

There are so many niches it isn't funny. They're everywhere. Just look at any commercial on TV, any ad in newspapers and magazines, Google Hot Trends, etc.

Wow, that's a comprehensive list from @sbucciarel. I hope you'll be able to use some of them :-) If you ask me, I'd say, do something that closely relates to your hobby, or passion.

Suzanne shared some good ones. Personally I target niches I can work with offline customers for years. Not today, not next week - for years.

For secondary websites I target the usual suspects: health, money/finances and traveling.

I would say do some extra research and see what the competitors or yours out ther are doing. Just get say 3-4 ideas of a niche.

Research, research, research.

That will give you clear direction of where you will want to go.

Create a product, "How to survive the new TLD changes" or something to that effect. It's brand new, it's hot!

Here are some good niche markets you can target that I know for sure are very profitable:

vegan bodybuilding
vegan weight loss plan
maternity scrapbooking ideas
diabetic weight loss diet plans
short term currency trading strategies

Community websites are great, they are fast growing and constantly flow in traffic. Most popular community websites normally consist of a CMS system and forum, making it easy to communicate and to maintain. Not only do they help your community get closer together, and unite around common problems and events, but also rank well for their rich and unique content. CMS systems to look at would be Joomla or Mambo. Both these systems allow you to add multiple components to better your website.
Fireboard is a forum component that can easily be installed and setup within minutes. Making your Joomla the ultimate community.
If you want to make use of a forum alone, I recommend PHPBB3.
Sell products on your website:
Making money on the web has never being so easy with, your own online shop to sell your products online. Complete with Credit card facilities, unlimited products, control panel to manage all parts of the shop and much more.

The craft industry would be a good one, like jewelry making for example. It's something that people always have to buy instructional guides and various information for, plus people get addicted to the crafts that they are into, so they are more willing to shell out money towards them.

I suggest that if you make a site.... use a niche that you like, your interest or your hobbies. It is very easy to make a site you want.
