I need someone to help a novice on a niche site

Hello warriors,

I hope you are well.
After reading about the niche site duel between Pat Flynn and Tyrone Shum I created a website coldsoreremedieshq(.)com. When I enter my keyword "cold sore remedies" it does not appear on the search results. Please can you help me? What am I doing wrong.

Thanks In advance

^theres a lot of work you gotta do before you start getting it ranked. You have to build backlinks, check your keyword density, add content etc. Not to mention it will also depend on what keywords you're trying to rank for and whats your competition and how much traffic does that keyword bring.

I have used market samurai to pick the keyword cold sore remedies. There is not a lot of strong competition. Is there a free software I can use to check where I am on the Google search engine results. I just want to know what position I am before I start to make the site bigger and bolder.

    Please help.

For a free rank tracking tool, search for 'seobook rank tracker' - that's a decent one...

You've not really given any information for anyone to truly help you. There's a lot more to rankings than just throwing up a site... What type of linkbuilding are you doing?

This stuff doesn't happen overnight. It can take 2 to 4 months for a brand new site to get rankings nowadays...

There are still things you can do to boost your on-page SEO.

You change your permalinks on the posts to start with and start some internal linking. If you start linking from relevant post to relevant post with the right anchor text you'll help tell Google more about your site and what each page is about.

I'd continue to add some backlinks... just have a routine of adding a few each day and play with other methods of traffic generation (ie. write a few articles here and there).

Finally... if this is your first site... chill a bit and treat it seriously but also treat it like an apprenticeship where you're learning the trade and developing experience.

you could add titles to your pages
you do realize there is no <title></title> tag?
Then, your URL structure should be SEO friendly and not just a page number

PS: it looks like all in one seo is the culprit for the title tags missing. Are you filling in the field for the title when you use all in one?

pps: perhaps change your pemalink to custom and use: /%postname%
