How much time do you spend on IM forums a day?

I find forums to be a great source to find help and information.

I know that most people are using forum to promote their product or service and develop some trust over time.

How much time a day do you think is enough?

It depends on what you're using the forums for; if you're networking and doing business then I say spending a good amount of time (an hour or more) on the site is fine. IT's also good if you're trying to learn the ropes.

Your Title question has nothing to do with your other question in the post.

1 - How much time do you spend on IM forums a day?
The essential to be in the know about whats going on in this business + some time to chit chat + some time to share knowledge.

2 - How much time a day do you think is enough (to develop trust over time)?
It's WHAT you do in here that counts - not the time you spend in here.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

    by the way:
to be a success you have to do something different from what other people are doing. and that is using your precious time to learn from forums and other areas.

from my sign up date and post count you can figure out that i dont spend a lot of time in forums. however, when i need to take a break (like now waiting for a long download) i visit the WF only since i think its the only one that can provide good value for my time!

It is a double edged sword for sure.

It can be easy to justify spending hours trolling IM forums as "research and education" since there is so much to learn from others.

But it can also be a massive distraction and time waster.

I always ask myself if my online activities are directly related to generating revenue and surfing forums hardly ever is.

      15-20 minutes per day tops...

    1hr / day.

Best way to learn is to see what others are doing. Best use of your time.

In my recent Glazer-Kennedy Insiders Circle meeting one of the
    topics discussed was time management.

The guy leading the discussion shared how Dan teaches you
to be absolutely ruthless in eliminating time wasters, and taking
    BACK control of your time.

I shifted the discussion to what IS wasting time, bringing up
that a big part of my business (as a JV broker) IS networking
and actually getting to know people.

So, in my case, seemingly unproductive small-talk can be the
most productive use of my time.

So, as has already been said, it depends upon your purpose
    on being on IM forums.

I think that's what's MORE important is that you be very
aware of how you are using your time... then, it becomes
    a conscious choice.

There's a ton of great resources on forums, but you have to keep it all in balance. Knowledge alone will not make you any money, it's ACTION that makes it happen. So don't allow yourself to get "lost" in the sea of forum surfing...

Personally I do it as filler or during downtime... a few minutes here and a few minutes there... but I wouldn't recommend spending more than an hour a day at it.
