ClickBank order form defaulting to Hong Kong Dollar (I'm in the US). Anyone else getting this?

Hey guys,

Just noticed that all of the ClickBank order forms that I visit (for my products AND for other's products), are now set to Hong Kong Dollar currency by default (I'm in the US, and my server is in the US).

Is this happening to anyone else? If so then I'll contact ClickBank about it right away, as that couldn't be good for the conversion rate! If this is just happening to me then I won't worry about it.

Haven't seen that error, but there are several threads recently about PayPal errors the past two weeks. I don't know what there problem is over there lately...

    Try hidemyass.com

I did it and it shows US and USD (I don't live in the US) so all seems OK.
    Hey Chris,

Yeah, if I use the proxy it shows USD for me too. Weird. Like I said, I could care less if this is just happening to me... so long as it's not happening to my potential customers.

Brandon I am in Oregon and for the last two months when I look at Clickbank offers I get the Hong Kong Default .... I didnt check out because of this..... I asked a friend in NY who does 5 figures on Clickbank what gives and he says Clickbank is using geo cache targeting and if they think your pc is in Hong Kong as the customer then thats the monetary checkout your given. ITS IN ISSUE not sure how big but its a negative issue that should be addressed

Alright... so it's not just me. I'll contact CB and see what they have to say. Hopefully they can get this sorted out soon.

Ahaha Yup I'm getting this too... I contacted ClickBank about this and they said it must be my IP... Now I know for sure it's on their end. I live in Canada. I just end up changing it manually to US currency anyways though.

I've had this happen beforehand as well. Just click on the drop down box and select USD and you're all set.

I know how to select a different currency in the drop down box... that's not the issue. My concern is that there will be a certain percentage of potential customers who will be confused about this, and will abandon the checkout process because of it.
