1. Spam
Sales of the food product are up.

5. Holiday Parties
Companies are cancelling parties.

6. Used Car Sales
Sales are up.

7. Iceland Tourism
400% rise in searches for flights to iceland.

8. College Endowments
Endowments to the Ivy League schools are down, which may mean a drop in financial aid.

9. Lipstick & Hosiery Sales
Hosiery sales are up 2.3%.

10. NASCAR
Racing is being hit hard.

11. Personal Maintenance
Gym memberships are down. Plastic surgery is down.

12. Sex & Sex Addiction

I would imagine Mcdonalds sales are up.

Becomes the choice for a night out with the kids over more expensive faire.

I would also see alcohol, tobacco & lottery ticket sales all rising.

Not only do used car sales go up during tough economic
times, car repairs sky rocket as people try to save the old
buggy for another year or two.

An info product on that subject would probably sell quite
    well right now.

The article mentions how Iceland's economy is tanking right now...could be that prices have dropped.

During economic slow or hard times people tend to hold on to the old buggy longer.

Most choose repairs over replacing the family vehicle...and, used auto part/s sales increase.

    Especially during winter months.

It has always boggled my mind how many new cars are sold on a regular basis. I drive two cars, both 10+ years old, and will probably buy 1 used one in the next year.

Do people just keep buying cars, or are there that many people that just keep the market moving?

I might also recommend Little Caesar's, where I fed my family of 6 tonight for $13.78 - two large pizzas + breadsticks, and no waiting! Amazing!

Anything that helps people to prosper during a recession will do well. My sales numbers are going completely wild right now - I've had my best December ever after 6 years online - because they are uniquely positioned to help people who need it the most in a recession. My two main products are:

      1. Sales training products.
      2. Google AdWords how-to product.

These two niches do better in a recession than they did in the good times, especially the sales training products.

Iv had my car for 7+ years now, still looks good and goes hard so dont see the point in upgradin.

But alot of my friends and family upgrade their cars constantly, every 1 - 2 years without fail. This is due to trade in value of their current cars. Low milage and current models hold value for 1 - 2 years then drop off dramatically. The upgrade difference in price isnt alot so its probably not a silly thing to do.

Im also a property investor here in the UK, the trend seems to be that after the xmas and new year period, theres an increase of houses being sold as couples/familys split but wait until the the new year and xmas is over to do so - sad but true.

The ice creams and murder thing is crazy heh.

    Regards,
    Simon.
