Do You Do Article Marketing For Your IM Products?

For those who come out with IM type products, what types of traffic generation techniques do you use?

Aside from PPC, I've found article marketing to be the most effective way to get targeted traffic. However, it's hard for me to write a ton of articles about a given niche without giving just about all of my secrets away, thusly devaluing my product.

Do any of you have this same problem? Any suggestions?

I think most product makers should go the affiliate route. The leverage of having your own product is pretty powerful. Why spend your week writing 20 articles when you can have 100 affiliates who produce the equivalent of 2000 articles a week?

I am going the affiliate route. But I still need to drive affiliates to the product first. Hopefully after about a month of advertising I can be done with promotions on my end of things.

Still, I don't think Google would approve a PPC campaign on this particular product, so article marketing is the next best thing.

I promote a lot of affiliate IM products, but I have a rule that I only promote products I use myself so I know how they work and what they do, In my articles etc which is my main form of promotion I do reviews of the product, how to's showing how the product works, what it can do for you, that kinda thing. hope that helps some 'over my shoulder' video's of how I use the products are on my list of things to do too

I actually uses Yahoo! Answers to promote on.
It´s one of the biggest forums in the world, with more than 21 million unique users in the US alone, and more than 90 Millions worldwide :-)

Yes ... article marketing can be a very, very effective way to get highly targeted traffic.

It wouldn't really be possible to do that by using article directories for their own traffic, for sure. But even a relatively small number of articles can produce plenty of targeted traffic, if you get your articles in front of enough qualified potential customers - and the realistic way to do that is by writing for syndication and effectively letting other people do the targeting for you.
