Hi Warriors! I received an e-mail from Willie Crawford about the New Year's giveaway event to build your list. It sounds interesting and like a good list builder, but my products and services aren't geared to the work-at-home, make-money-online crowd. My target market is completely different. It sounds like the New Year's giveaway list-building event is geared to the work-at-home, make-money-online crowd. Does anybody know if the event reaches anyone other than these types of people? Thanks, Michelle |

What niche(s) are you in? Some giveaways are targeted to other topics. There was a recent one about horses.

You'll see the odd non-IM product in there, but it is primarily IM based. I know there's one going on right now that has to do with self-help and its sounds really popular.

Since there are several new year giveaways set to launch, I'm not really sure which one you are talking about. Most of them are IM-related, but not all. The signup page for Guido Nussbaum's New Year Giveaway doesn't say anything about gifts having to be in a certain niche. Neither does the signup page for the 'It's A New Year' giveaway. The 'New (You) Year Bastoff' event targets several niches, and there's one accepting gifts related to self-improvement. (Click the link in my sig for a complete list of upcoming and ongoing events) |

Well, you can definately list products for any niche on our giveaway event and I'm sure you'll get signups. Most people though come there because they are looking for IM related products. Still that doesn't mean they aren't interested in your niche as well. For example: I think every 4.th person has a pet? So if you have listed a pet related book in the event, then every 4.th person might be interested in that and signup for your list to get it. Still I guess the interest in non IM niches is lower than in IM related products on these non specialized giveaway events. That leads us to the conclusion that there is a huge undiscovered market that has next to no competition: Niche Giveaway Events |

Since no one has directly answered the question I will attempt to answer it as best I can. Once you sign up as a contributor and go to submit your gift they have a drop down list with several catagories. You choose one of these catagories to put your gift under so that all gifts are organized by catagory. From the list I noticed when I looked, it looks like they are all pretty much make money based. The vast majority of gifts in that particular event will most likely be IM based. There might be the odd product that is a plr product on pets or health or such but for the most part they will be IM related. There have been several niche giveaways ran within the last 6 months and more will surely come. If you are really interested in giveaways in your own particular niche your best bet may be to invest in the software to run your own event. Quote:

Thanks for the info guys! I appreciate it. I'm actually marketing online marketing services to offline businesses -- a couple of niches specifically. But I rather doubt my target market will be part of that audience. I agree though that creating niche-specific online giveaway events is a great idea. Especially when the giveaway event I was talking about doesn't target my specific niche audience. Michelle |

Hi Nightengale and Warriors My Partner Fred Koster (Mr. Giveaway) has been doing Giveaways for many years we currently have 7 going as of right now. We just recorded an excellent set of audio's that cover the nuts and bolts, the ins and outs of Hosting a Giveaway. This will soon be available to our Members at our website. Guido Nussbaum's Giveaway 2 is absolutely the finest Giveaway script currently available anywhere and I'm thrilled to see his reply posted here. Fred was interviewed also this evening for Mike Broadwell's "New YOU New Years Giveaway' which is Themed "Your New Years Resolution Success" So Goals, Start a Business, Lose Weight, Learn a Skill, Train your Dog what have you. It's not for IM Products and with Mike and Fred managing it you will get a ton of sign ups for your list that aren't IM'ers. That event opens tomorrow for members with contributors already signing up and we have tons of gifts and many more to upload after they get screened. If you are interested here use this link. I would really like for you to use my contributor aff link but I follow the rules so here's a straight link "New YOU New Years Giveaway" and a tutorial about the Giveaway presented by Mike Broadwell. Fred's interview will be broadcast after the launch on National Radio out of Minnesota and we have many other promo's lined up as well. We're rebuilding our Giveaway Coaching Site and I'll post it here when the podcasts are set up and the site is finished. We have over 4 hours of outstanding information about using Giveaways and making a lot of money in the process. Anyway, Hope you join in on the fun. All The Best Paul |

I think Willie Crawford did a cooking giveaway last year. Stephanie Mulac does a couple of self-improvement giveaways from time to time. You could start your own in any niche you want and be the revolutionary one ![]() Fabian |

Thanks Guido & Paul! This is actually for my online to offline business. I was already pursuing this before that huge thread was posted by David Preston. However, I've putzed around with it and haven't really gotten it off the ground. That's my goal for 2009: to stop putzing around with it, get it in gear and just do it! I love the giveaway event idea and think Guido and Paul are right on the money: there's a lot of potential in the niche giveaway event arena. In my case, I'm pursuing a couple of industries nationwide as opposed to anyone and everyone in my local market. I'm with Shaun on that one: it would be a lot easier to create/maintain online marketing programs for a couple of specific industries instead of a mix of all types of different businesses where you have to constantly come up with unique marketing programs and A/R content for each type of business. Plus, there's a huge publicity opportunity with a giveaway event for online to offline businesses, especially with the current economic woes. Done correctly, I think the media would jump all over it.
