Alternative to YouTube with traffic

Hi

With all the YouTube accounts being deleted, people looking for alternatives find many suggestions- if they want to simply have videos hosted.

The drawback is the built in search and traffic from YouTube that you don't get from other sites that host videos.

I was thinking if you had another site that could embed videos in a facebook page, you could piggy back on the facebook searches and traffic to replace the YouTube searches. (I realize you could embed YT vids and get both fb+YT traffic before your account was deleted)

Good videos will get a lot of likes and shares and you can build a custom pages around them. From a facebook visitors perspective, it doesn't matter where the video is hosted.

Would this be a viable model? I have never tried alternatives to YouTube but I have seen embedded videos from Vimeo and some with other watermarks. I have never looked at these services. Can they be posted on facebook with simple embed code?
