Best method of monitoring 100s of RSS feeds?

Title says it all. What's the best program or method of monitoring literally 100s of RSS feeds? Ideally I'm looking for something that is desktop based, but I'm open to anything at this point.

    I used to use Feed Demon. It's not necessarily on the desktop but it is a downloadable application that you can pin to the task bar and it works really well in my opinion. I hear that NewzCrawler is good too but you have to pay for that.
