How to get tax id if I am not US resident?

Hello,

I want to get a tax ID in order to open ecommerce shop as dropshipping companies ask for it in order to cooperate. Anyone please can help or tell where I can get information about how i can get tax iD if I do not live in US.
How fast can I do it? Where should I do it? In which state should I get the tax ID? can I use tax id from my country or shall I get tax id from US if I want to sell for mainly US customers and get my inventory from US companies?

Please please give some advice!

Contact your dropship companies via email, and advise them of the fact that you don't live in the US.

That should be all it takes as they should get back with you to advise of what if any other steps you need to take.

The tax ID they ask for is from the Federal government not state. So your company must be incorporated (mine is an LLC) and then you can get your tax ID instantly online. However since your outside of the U.S. you need to call the IRS up:

If you were incorporated outside of the United States or the U.S. territories, you cannot apply for an EIN online. Please call us at (215) 516-6999 (this is not a toll free number) between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) Online
