Should I sell Products, Services, or Affiliate? Help me decide

Hi Warriors,

I'm currently making money online selling services.
I'm earning only about $200 - $300 a month.

Should I continue with my service and grow it to increase my earnings, or should I shift to internet marketing?

It seems that my clients are making more money.

Thanks

You should get some advice from your clients and ask them what they are doing to earn. You could get lots of ideas this way..

Well, you already ARE doing internet marketing! I wouldn't leave what's bringing you in some money. Try something new, while keeping your current income coming in.

whatever you are doing, try to replace yourself with virtual assistants or automated systems and scale it up.

If you want to learn internet marketing think about what you are good at or have a desire to do:

Lots of work, desire for self achievement, lots of marketing and niche knowledge = creating and selling products

Work for money mentality, desire to help others, good with customer service = offering a service

Great copywriter and marketer, good at SEO, ok with inconsistent sales = affiliate marketer.

Sell more services. Try to increase your clientele. If you're helping only offline businesses, then start helping online businesses also. A lot of people require good services and they're searching for a potential provider.

Hey I understand the situation that you are in. I am working with offline clients as well. The beauty of selling services is that people need them and you can provide them. That means money right now.

Things like making money online (affiliate marketing, selling your own products) take time and involve a steep learning curve (at least from my experience). Of course the dream is to be raking it in full time from online marketing efforts but offering some offline services to pay the bills is never a bad thing.

      Good Luck!

You should work on your short-term cash flow (services and/or offline marketing) as well as long-term cash flow (affiliate marketing and/or selling your own products).

Many IM'ers have had major success while working on both at the same time...Two important requirements:

    1) time management

    AND

    2) caffeine

      Well...

you shouldn't *stop*, but you shouldn't coast either.

Depending on how much you save from your services
will determine how much time you can spend putting
effort into marketing products instead of services.

As for what YOU should do...

well, that's not a good question because you're ask-
ing someone like me to tell YOU what direction to go
      in YOUR business.

If you plan on doing what you're doing for your clients,
the first step is making the choice that works for you.

Yes. This is true. And, that's the *catch*.

If you do BOTH, you will need a LOT of focus, caffeine,
time management, and strict goal setting. I was able to
do exactly this...but couldn't keep at the pace.

Some people CAN do it, and you won't know until you
try it yourself without giving yourself a heart attack.

Personally I used the time I was selling services to learn everything I could. I had a couple of clients who were willing to answer my questions, though you can also learn just by looking at what they're doing and soaking it in.

I think taking this time is so important if you need the money. If you don't have any other source of income, what will you do if you give up services now and don't make money from other IM efforts right away?

If you need that money, continue to offer services and schedule time in for yourself as your own client a couple of times a week. Of course it'll be slower than working on things full time, but at least you'll be getting paid while you get past that initial learning curve!

My suggestion... continue to offer services, but set aside time to work on other projects. Personally, I offer my writing service but make sure to spend several hours a day working on sites for passive income.

If you like what you are already doing, I think you should keep doing it.
I would probably continue offering services, but look in to the possibility of outsourcing some of the work, so you can take in more clients without having to spend more time working on them yourself.

Spend some time thinking about what kind of a business it is that you want in the long term:
What niche do you want to be in?
How do you want to earn (own products, affiliate products, services, other)? There is really no way for us to decide what is right for you, when it comes to how you should monetize, but what does your gut tell you?

      Hope this helps

I don't suggest you shift. Keep what you're doing and test n' learn other fields. From what I saw, affiliate marketing usually takes 1~2 years before you can make some serious money; newbies usually do not convert.
But whatever you decide to do, good luck with it!

I would maintain the income that you're currently getting and spend your time learning how to market. If you want help with where to start, let me know, but when you know how to market , it doesn't really matter what you're selling...within reason!!
