This is something I've looked into a few times, and maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places, but I personally have opted, at this time at least, not to go into this field.

Is there money to be made? Certainly. If you can find offers that achieve several things for you, the site owner.

    1. They must permit incentivized offers (i.e. you are offering something to the visitor for them to participate, many offers don't allow this).
    2. They must allow you to track who completes the offer requirements.
    3. They must pay sufficiently per completion, for you to offer something to the visitors who are completing the offers.

    Reason for # 1
If they don't allow incentivized offers, you could be kicked out of the program and forfeit any commissions or other payments you are entitled to from their program, thus leaving you 'on the hook' for fulfilling your obligations to people who followed your rules, without getting the money you were counting on.

    Reason for # 2
If you and your site can not track who completes what offer requirements, you won't know who you are getting paid for, and thus what member(s) are entitled to 'payment' under your site's rules.

    Reason for # 3
You are offering to pay someone to complete tasks, offers, etc. Whether this payment is cash or other merchandise, it costs something. If you are paying cash/check/paypal $3, you better be getting more than $3 out of the offer being completed. If you are providing an XBOX 360 that you buy locally for $200 (I've not price checked them lately), you need to have earned more than the $200 + shipping charges from the offers they've completed.

    After all those factors
If you are following the more common sites models, not only do people need to complete offers, but to get paid they need to bring others in who complete offers. This gets sketchy in my eyes, as it's difficult to distinguish to the common man, the difference between this and a Ponzi scheme/chain letter, which makes the site more suspect, even if you keep it 100% legitimate.

Personally I have found it difficult to locate a sufficient quantity of viable and valuable offers I would be willing to promote through such a site, and it's not something I wish to invest a considerable amount of my time setting up based on the offers I have found available for my site to make available.

Hopefully someone else will have additional thoughts and insights to offer as well.

To be honest I would steer clear of GPT sites...
Even the big ones have problems. Recently, SwatCash, which was one of the largest GPT sites, declared bankruptcy. This happens because when you use so many affiliate sites, it is a given that at least some will not pay you, or at least not pay you on time.
If you are planning on starting one, I would keep at all times several thousand that is readily available for payments, as you may need to reach into your own pocket from time to time.

Ok, here's my point of view

I did mention this out of many models I describe in my latest product, not to do free promotion here, but just to share a bit about this

you can definitely do well with this, but with a bit of twist

The cost for startup is 300usd for a good script best known in the industry
and yes, you do have to prepare some funds to send first if you're doing gpt
or to get some stuffs to ship
but it is not necessary to be a gpt
    it can be any site

    #2 Incentive offers
There are a few CPA networks which offer more than hundreds of offers which allow incentives.
You can do this with non incentive offers but this will be another story since this is blackhat which I will not discuss much here

    #3
    To make it profitable
    do the maths
let's say an ipod costs 200usd, then you will need to have your users sign up for offers more than 300usd in value
and most of the users do not complete the whole offers due to, you know, it often happens...
and this is how most of those sites make money, not from the profit of getting paid by advertisers and shipment

should you have any questions, feel free to ask

I can't find a good source of information on this. I've seen it defined as Get Paid To, Get Paid Today. Some claim it is killing MLM, but exactly what is GPT?

GPT sites are sites where you get paid to preform actions, like view a website, make a social bookmark, or other item. Most of the GPT sites offer serveral level of affiliate payouts but i can't understand how it'd kill MLM, they are different business models really.

Hey, David, I know all about GPT. I'm actually using it to build my business. It's a great model for people that are struggling doing the traditional family and friends approach.

If you want to find out more. I suggest you take a look at my website. Ton of free information on the subject.

I am promoting a GPT program (Not carcon copy pro). It just means you get paid instant commissions instead of waiting. Plus the commissions pay out large on the front end instead of on the back end like in mlm.

The GPT model is a way to build a home-based business, similar to most multi-level marketing models, only with personal selling and the threat of losing an entire leg of your downline at the snap of your fingers. GPT eliminates the possibility of you spending months, even years building a downline, and then having that downline disappear because one of the people you sponsor decides to jump to another opportunity and take everyone they recruited with them.

Over time, if you build a successful downline in an MLM, you come to depend on the residual income of not only those you sponsor, but of the people THEY sponsor as well.

With GPT, if someone were to leave your company, you would not suffer the doom of losing a large chunk of your residual income overnight. While you still make a residual income on the people you personally sponsor, you don't make a residual on the people two levels below you and beyond. Instead, you make a bigger commission on the people you personally bring into your business.

You can check out my blog to learn more about GPT. The link is in my signature.

      David,
There are many different types of "get paid" in the GPT industry, so before following anyones advice make sure you do your homework and research for yourself because there are also a great deal of scams in the "GPT Industry" ....

One part would be get paid to read emails - This is one of the worst, many site owners would pay out pennies to get you to click on ads in emails and you would need to end up clicking millions just to get anything. You could always refer a bunch of people for them to click but why refer them to click millions of ads when you could refer them to your own opt-in and make real money from those people.

Most of the site these type of sites would fold up and close down without paying anyone. 1,000's of sites have done this, so this is not some guess - do your research and you will find out.

Also many get paid to read type sites have illegally used CPA offers to generate $$$ and just pay out pennies for the leads. The problem is many CPA offers do not allow paid to read emails type sites to do this.

There are some get paid to read email sites that have lasted more than 6 or 7 years, these sites would not fall in the above category, just about 95% of them are scams though because someone buys a script for $50 and opens a site and calls themselves a site owner and they have no real money to back up their business let alone even know how to run their business..

As mentioned though there are many different kinds of get paid to - You are best to do your homework, search google, learn as much as you can before taking anyones advice on this subject.
