Think I found my niche and need some feedback

Hi fellow Warriors,

I have not posted in along time as I have been reading and learning. I thank you all for the information provided on this site as I learned how to build a website, SEO, backlinks, keyword search, etc. My free site that I built for learning purposes received many hits.

Now I think I am ready to purchase a .com domain and attempt to make money online.

I was perviously employeed in one of the biggest online industries that have millions of clients throughout the world. Through my years these particular clients have always been curious of what goes on behind the scene and I want to make a website that provides this information to them for a membership fee.

This information is rarely given or known as the majority of the employees that no longer work in this industry are lower level customer service agents however I had the priveldge to work in all departments and along side the CEO so I know exactly how everything works.

Basically my thoughts on this is to purchase a domain and create the website. Create blog articles on a weekly basis that provide basic information pertaining to a certain subject in the industry and a link directing them to my website to join to get the rest of the information. What is a good membership fee that I should charge? Is 10$ to low or to high?

In the website itself with all the information that would be provided on what happens behind the scenes, I am thinking of having certain sections offering clients products from clickbank and amazon that they can purchase. Is that ok?

Also a forum so they can ask specific questions regarding the industry that they want to know.

Additionally there are currently forums that are specific to the industry where a client posts for help and the forum owners have contacts in the industry to assit them with a payment or win. I would proactivitly be on these and give the client information based on what I know when working for these companies as to why his account was closed, locked or he has not received payment and direct him to my website to join for indepth information, etc.

Am I thinking right? Is there anything else I could add to increase more revenue, etc?

Thank you,

Check out the links in my sig before you go off buying anything too fancy ... I use a plugin for wordpress, s2member, that I think would be great for your WP site - it's free and works easily with paypal. It will let you set up your member site, and even sell digital content if you decide to do an eBook or anything later on.
Thank you Johnny I am reading your ebooks now.

Before you get too deep, check your previous employment contract. You may have agreed to non-disclosure terms that would make a site like you propose a violation of those terms and open you up to legal action.

It takes a lot of $10 subscribers to pay a $400/hr lawyer...

        Hi John,

I did sign one for their software and for any tools I created. I think I should be ok as it is not just one company theres over 4000 sites and my site would be dedicated to informational stuff rather then how to bypass their security.

An example would be many clients do not like to send registration documents after they deposit. (ID, Credit Card, Utililty bill) Now the information I have is I know what documents are asked based on each deposit method so the information I would give on my site is if you deposit this way you would have to send this in, if you select this deposit method you wont have to send this in and so forth.

So basically it is all general information stuff from customer service, accounting, marketing, security, etc that I would provide which clients have asked over the 10+ years ive worked there.

I am not sure I am new to all this but think its a really good idea.

As long as you aren't violating any contractual agreements, it sounds like it's worth trying. Good luck to you...
