Sample long-term article stats, FWIW

Out of curiosity, I took a look at how some of my first article submissions to EzineArticles had done over the years. The sample was pulled from those published in 2005.

Over that time period, my average clickthrough rate was about 1.1%.

What was interesting was the possible syndication rate, as measured by the number of time the "ezine publisher" button was clicked.

That same sample averaged out to 3.6%.

In other words, for every 1,000 views, 11 clicked the link in the resource box and 36 clicked to get the ezine-formatted version. Which makes the average "positive response rate" about 4.7%

The sample was drawn from the articles submitted my first year using EZA. Not my best, not my worst, just my earliest.

On a side note, the article with the highest number of views had more than all the others combined. The clicks and possible syndications, however, were among the worst. My takeaway from this is that, unless you are getting a cut of EZA's ad revenues, raw viewers are not as important as positive responses.

Hope you find this interesting...
