I'm not going to talk about article marketing being "good" or "bad" since there is another thread about that. Besides, it's a false argument. What I want to know is this: Do gurus use article marketing? Reese, Kern, Filsaime, and others: Do they use articles or not? I'm guessing that there are many nuances here. First, it's entirely possible they once did use article marketing. It might be in their past. But, still I ask: Do they use article marketing now? (If yes, then that's interesting. If no, that's also interesting. There's much to learn from this.) Second, maybe they do article marketing in a totally different way than you might think. Listen, we all know they use *content* to generate cash. You pretty much must use content to sell. In most cases the content itself is what you're selling. It has its own gravity, if you will. Third, does it really matter if gurus use article marketing? I think it does because it teaches me a few things about how to operate as we grow and expand our business. If they do it, how do they do it? If they don't, where are they investing. (And so on.) So, do gurus use article marketing? ~ John p.s. Again, this isn't about article marketing being right for YOU or not. It's not good, it's not bad. It is simply another tool. Another technique. |

I know for a fact that Jonathan Leger does article marketing. But I have only seen him talk about two different case studies he performed. So I don't know if he uses it on a consistent basis. However, Filsaime? Kern? Reese? I have no idea. I'll tell you one thing, though. Whatever they are doing is old school and they're not getting the maximum gains they could be getting. Every time I see an email from any "guru" about article marketing, I honestly and truly laugh at it. I even recently saw a product launch that was so full of **** in the sales letter and marketing email that I responded to tell him that he's either trying to fool people or he doesn't know what he's talking about. Never got a respense. Allen GRaves |

Gurus usually have affiliates who do the article marketing for them. Why write articles when every new product you create already has a team of active affiliates. I guess it depends on the person. Can't make a generalization about them all. |

On second thought, I just remembered that Willie is a master with articles. The Stompernet guys have also endorsed EzineArticles as a necessary part of your SEM. I've also seen articles from Jim Edwards years ago. He was doing Bum Marketing back in like pre-2002 before the term was coined. |

Ron is right. They just "outsource" the article marketing through their motivated affiliate armies.

For grins I checked EZA. Keep in mind this is under their real names. They could very well have pen names. Mike Filsaime had 1 article from 2005 Yanik Silver had 10 articles from 2005-2007 John Reese had 10 articles from 2003-2004 But, there were pages and pages of articles by their affiliates. I agree that they don't have to go the article writing route anymore when so many other people do it for them. One exception is Willie Crawford with at least 37 artciles in his own name. Peggy |

For what it's worth, Eben Pagan (of "Get Altitude" fame) aka. David DeAngelo, biggest seduction guru on the web, uses article marketing abundantly.

Yes and no....: 1 - They leverage the traffic generated from the articles their affiliates write to sell their products. 2 - They use pen names 3 - They use content in a different manner - Their articles have morphed into emails that are used to promote products and/or sell products. Their emails are still written content just used in a different manner. If one email sent to a list of thousands can generate $10,000 in sales then there is more ROI for them to write that email and let their affiliates focus on the article writing and submitting for additional sales/promotion/traffic generating. Keep in mind that in some cases they don't create their own products. Ghostwriters do and they merely sell boatloads of product. Their article marketing methods are most likely similar in nature. "David DeAngelo" is playing in a different market than Eben Pagan. The IM space is very different from most markets. Eben Pagan, John Reese, Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, and many others make news (and big waves) when they make moves. Their lists build themselves. Affiliates, blogs, social media sites, and forums drive far more traffic than an article could. I doubt that any of them spends much time thinking about SEO as a lead source for their own business. |

good thread. in a video i saw on frank kern's site he says that he himself practices no SEO, but considers article marketing one of his favorite forms of "paid" advertising where he hires people to write articles for the purpose of list building for different niches |

Hi Guys, Where is a good source of advice for article marketing? I am quite new to this forum and I have never really gotten into article marketing. I do think this is something we should do in our company. Yes it is work and will probably take a few hours each day but I think it may be worth giving it a go. I know it does involve work and having to type out content and reword things etc, but does anyone have any recommended software help or training or the best places to submit to. Note, we don't spam and don't want to post crappy articles everywhere. We have a good reputation in our niche and don't want to spoil it. However, if there is a way to speed up the production of articles and posting them etc. then please let me know. Kind regards. |
