Is there a "Warrior-worthy" self-employed insurance carrier?

Right now I have health insurance through NASE, the National Association of Self-Employed.

I have never used the health insurance, and it has a high-deductible and doesn't seem to do much with doctor's visit, eye exams, dental, etc.

And the premiums have increased to the point where it's time to consult with you and let's see who offers the best coverage and value to Warriors who are self-employed.

Who do you recommend?

Thanks!

Warmly,
Dan

P.S. Someone recommended Cigna, and someone else suggested I check out Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have not looked into either, yet.

I'm with Blue Shield of CA and no problems here. They paid for ankle surgery earlier this year after I injured it moving. They did the standard "review" to make sure it was actually covered but other than that, no problems. I pay $250/month for the top plan they offer.

Thanks for posting your policy, Nathan.

I'm paying $267 a month through NASE, with I believe a $2,500 deductible. I believe the provider they use is Mege-Life.

    That's great, Frank!

Sounds far better, and cheaper, than what I have.

    Thanks for sharing.

Blue Cross, Blue Shield is $1,200 here in NY for a family plan. You guys are talking about individual plan rates, yes?

Yeah, TomG., we're talking about individual plans.

Although the family plans will probably be of interest to many Warriors, so maybe we can talk about both.
