Another Autoresponder Question

I am currently building my list using Imnica service but start to have a change of heart. I noticed that my emails sequence sent to my subscribers are not really in sequence...

Some of the emails are missing. For e.g emails no.1,2 and 3 did not get thru but no. 4 and 6 got thru!

Furthermore, I noticed that most of my subscribers did not open my emails. At first I thought it was normal as some people seldom open their emails or maybe the email address could be a dummy or fake...

But when I saw a couple of emails which i have signed up from warrior forum landed in my spam box and it was from imnica, I got a bit worried.

I am worried that my unopened emails and the missing sequence ones have landed into my subscribers spam box!

This is only my assumptions only and I don't want to contact imnica because of my experienced contacting them.

They took very long to respond to my queries and some of my queries are even unanswered....

So if I subscribe to Aweber, can I bring my list along? This list I have gathered are thru paid method so I kind of "heartbroken" if I am gonna lose them like that.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Qamar

PS: I know I should have go with aweber from the beginning......

I just had a quick look over the aweber faq's and it seems that you can import them. I can't post links just yet, but if you do a search for aweber import in Google, you should find a few posts on the aweber blog that describe how to do it.

Are you asking if you can import your existing member subscriber list into Aweber? I know I can do that with iContact. As for the autoresponders I think you would have to manually recreate them.

    Hi Qamar,

I use Aweber, Ebizac and Imnica. With Aweber you can import your list but they must confirm an email before you can count them as your subscribers again.

Depending on your open rates your could expect to lose 70 - 90% of them by not confirming.

Inmica and Ebizac will allow you to import subscribers without confirmation once you can prove where and when you collected the leads.

I dealt with Kavi (support / owner) from Ebizac many times and support is 10 out of 10. Price wise you'll save a lot as well.

Google "Ebizac Autoresponder" and you'll find my blog post about more of the features of Ebizac, I think you'll also find an increase in your opens and clicks, saying all that Aweber does provide the best service all round but your pay for them with my bill ove $550 per month with the same number of subscribers in Ebizac for $67.

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

Hi Kevin, what's your experience with Imnica's performance as compared to Aweber and Ebica?

I want to support our warrior by trying Imnica but their helpdesk is very inconsistent. They did respond some of my questions but it's like few days or even weeks later...
But I like their interface though.

Now I am thinking seriously of changing to other service provider.

I recently saw an offer in the WSO forum for a php script system that you run yourself for $100 or so.

I don't understand this part. You seem to be saying that they're your current autoresponder company, and something is very wrong, but you don't want to discuss it with them?

Only Aweber can answer this question.

The answer varies, according to many factors (which may even vary themselves). There's no certainty that anyone else's experience on this point will necessarily be relevant to you, Qamar: you need to ask them.

Well, you're by no means alone there: we've seen many Warriors saying this. I wish you a fast success in resolving this crisis, but I think you'd be better served by calling an Aweber sales/customer service representative, rather than by asking others here to recount their experiences/impressions.

@Alexa - I have contacted Imnica's support desk several times and most of the time I am disappointed because they rarely reply. Yes, they did respond to a couple of my questions but that was what a weeks later?

    I cannot wait that long.

So due to these reasons that I have decided not to contact them anymore.

Being an ImnicaMail member, I agree that the support is slow (like really slow) and even the owner really agrees this openly which is a good thing but they are a new company and working really hard to extend the functionality of ImnicaMail.

Just yesterday, I had a talk with the owner Richelo on Facebook and I asked him 3-4 queries directly there and he did agreed even that time that the support is slow and he trying to resolve it asap. and also looking to bring the live chat support.

Regarding your email failing to reach subscriber inbox...Can you tell me what's the avg. open rate you are getting with your email campaign and your niche (which I think is IM).

And also, as a suggestion try to keep your spamassasin score below 1.6 or 2...Although upto 5 score it is considered safe but I will recommend you to keep it below 2. Plus, avoid using the words like free, guarantee, some big $ amount or similar words in your email campaign.

For making my email campaings get best possible open rates I personally ask my new subscribers to whitelist my email 2-3 times. Like on pending confirmation and confirmed subscription pages. PLUS, I also send them a personal looking email as an autoresponder after 40-50 minutes asking them to whitelist my ID. I have even created a tutorial for them to make it easy for them - http://www.smartbloggerz.com/e/whitelist.html

    Hope that helps.

I started with Aweber but left for several reasons. I know happily reside at Imnica. They are still a young company so there are growing pains...

The help is slow at times, but also very fast at times. I've had list imported in less than an hour before... and I've had it take ten days before as well...

But they are indeed improving and Richelo is very accessible and I have talked with him several times and he never makes excuses and understands our needs and wants.

The last support ticket I submitted to them got a reply in about 24 hours with a answer that fixed my solution and the issue was fixed the following day...

Also, Imnica has lots of options not available at Aweber, and the reason your a/r sequence is likely not going in order is b/c of the way they are triggered is different...

In Imnica all autoresponder messages are triggered by an action you decide on (usually going to be "subscription") and I struggled with this issue at first as well but have now grown to see the benefit of it...

Make sure that you have your sequence ready before you start collecting opt-ins because if you add message "4" to go out on day 10 but add it after you have starting collecting opt-ins anyone that has already subscribed would not get that message while anyone that subscribed after you added the message would get it on day 10 as you planned all along...

Sometimes they will get mixed up because we will create a new one and then decide an older one should go after it so we change the "number of days"... well then that one still goes out (to those already subscribed) but now it will go out on the triggered action (in this case day 10 or the new day, like day 15) but they will not get the newest email you put in its' place...

Does my blabbing make sense here?

Now, to address your open rates?

First you should consider that "plain text" emails can not be tracked, neither the clicks or the opens... (I hope you are sending two versions, (html and plain text) of each email you send)... Also some email services don't track them or block them so you don't see the opens...

Now, about spam. With Imnica being a newer company you can't afford to be as "spammy" as I see some people get away with other a/r's...

(but these tips are good for all emails)

avoid special characters such as dashes, brackets, paretheses, dashes, asterisks....

Don't use a ton of capital letters...

Avoid certain phrases like "your own" "for free" and especially "FREE" and def don't do "FR-EE" you are much better off just doing "free" if you must use it... BUT NEVER USE FREE AS THE FIRST WORD OF A SUBJECT! This is an instant 0.5 points added to your spam rating (or more)...

Always test your emails using a gmail and a yahoo account prior to broadcasting or adding to a/r sequence and you will have better results as well...

      Hope this helps

I think imnica might be having problems with email deliverability. It might not be a problem across the board, because if they are a smart ESP, they must have distributed their smtp network across different IPs/servers.

Problem with hosted email solutions is that same IP is shared by multiple users. So one users bad mailing habits or complaints will affect everyone else using same IP. Therefor a ESP must very intelligently design it's email infrastructure and keep bad mailers separate from good ones

Or you can manually type them into AW yourself --or get someone to do it -- but AW limits you to 10 a day.

I'm going to leverage this thread a little bit for a related autoresponder question.

What autoresponder is the most easy to use out of the box?

I hate aWeber. It has too many steps to go through just to get to the code to add to my site's opt-in box and then it is clunky to try to connect it to the opt-in form that is already created by my WordPress theme (which is the form I want to use - not aWeber pre-built forms).

I'm sure it's not that difficult once you learn it, but I don't have time or desire to learn it. I just want something easy to use immediately. I also hate paying $19 per month for something that has a learning curve. For that price, it should be quick to set up.

      Any easy-to-use suggestions?
      Thanks,
      Anna

Ok - I finally figured out how to add the code from aWeber to my site's opt-in box. Probably took me a total of 2 hours (worked on it a couple of different times today).

Now, I'm copying the code and writing the steps so that I can repeat this on my next site (which will probably be in a couple of weeks, so I will have forgotten everything by then).

I still think autoresponders should be more intuitive and automagic. Just my 2 cents.

        Thanks,
        Anna

I have closed my Imnical mail and go to Aweber.
I have thought about this hard enough. The emails that I subscribed from Mike McAleer have continously gone into my spam box without fail! (I have not tell him this)

Mark lyford's wso email also landed there. That's how I got to know about his copy and dazzle special offer...otherwise I might have missed the good offer.

I have tested this system for about 1 month and have come to my own conclusions. I have to go where the pros go. Thanks for all the input from everyone.
