I've used Hostgator for the past 1 year and they are really good. Really good customer support too.

Do they have any limits for MySQL queries ? because my current hosting does have a limit of 75000 queries per hour which is frustrating for me because i mostly have a good amount of traffic and when my sites goes down because of hosting it freaks me out and my search engine reputation.

Since I do not use Mysql I can not fully answer this question. I do know you can have unlimited databases though. My suggestion would be to contact live chat and ask them.

I don't know about that. Maybe one of the many hostgator users in this forum can enlighten us both about it.

But I've never had my site go down when I've had surge of traffic (not that I've noted of any).

Well there's a ton of hosts out there, you can click the top link in my sig and I have some recommendations/instructions.

I say just make sure your host uses cPanel and doesn't upcharge for every little thing (such as addon domains, as you say)

I recommend Hostgator and Hostmonster a lot for shared hosting, good luck!

Hostgator is by far my favorite. For less the $9 I get "unlimited" domains hosted, email address, diskspace and bandwidth. The "unlimited" is quoted because if you take up too much of the server resources they will ask you to purchase a virtual server or something else.

I'd highly recommend Hostgator, plus their customer support service is excellent.

I don't know of HostGator limiting the number of queries per hour. I do know that they allow for 25 MySQL database connections at the same time. Regardless of how many queries are done per connection, its counted as one database connection. That's the only limit I know of.
