What is your EPC with Amazon? I have over 200 clicks but still no sales. Is it really that hard to get your first sale?

You need to get thousands of clicks to establish a baseline. Those numbers are not enough to show anything at all except you need more traffic.

myob is right I also am wondering if that is the site you are getting the traffic from in your sig file ?

If so you need to do a bit of work on it to increase conversions, as right now you have about 40 words and a widget for each product which really is not going to cut it.

The best conversions are going to be with a well written review article, with strategically placed text links guiding the reader to click through to Amazon.

I think you will find most successful Amazon Affiliates will direct you use text links and images rather than an Amazon widget as text links convert better.

There is an absolute ton of free information on Amazon on this forum and I suggest you do a search, and spend some hours reading the hundreds of posts as they are priceless in the valuable information they provide.

      Kickin it on Amazon

Agree with the posters above. You need more clicks to draw any conclusions, especially if you're selling high-ticket items which usually convert worse than cheap items.

That said, my EPC right now for the month is $0.27 (that's with thousands of clicks). It doesn't really mean much though since it will be different depending on your keywords, content, products etc.

Niche selection will dictate this number the most. I'll write a forum post in about 20 minutes and I"ll pull in my stats from nearly $90k in Amazon profit so you can see what my click through rate is.

Yes that's true as well. You need enough data to show average stats (so that's why I'll post the thread in a second)

Yah, that seems a little low but then again if your niche isn't very focused on people looking to buy right now then your numbers will be a little lower.

By doing some aggressive marketing, you can drive up your EPC quite substantially. For example, just writing articles for niche ezine publishers, context-relevant websites and blogs, and offline outlets such as magazines, trade journals, newspapers, and direct mail can drive highly targeted and convertable traffic to your sales conversion funnel. This method works effectively in any highly competitive market for selling some of the very high end products ($10,000+). Some Amazon affiliates even use telemarketing/mobile marketing in the mix.
