What exactly is site flipping and what would I have to do with my site (the first link in my sig) to be able to flip it?

Edit: I just updated my theme hopefully it looks A little better.

Looking for the way!

Site flipping is nothing but creating a site or buying a readymade site and then selling that site to a buyer.

You must ''grow'' the site in your signature by adding more posts into it, make it a bit more attractive by adding an attractive header title or a logo.

This should be your starting point.

You might also step into visiting sitepoint marketplace and see which sites are selling there, whats their lyout structure and how they are priced.

It can be done in a few ways. But the basic way that I teach is building a site and get it making a little money each day, then sell it off for 10-12 sometimes as much as 36 times the value the monthly income.

It's a fantastic way to put some quick cash in the bank but for it to be worth the trouble you want to be sure the site has some Page Rank (a kind of quality score that Google gives your site) and is making some money.

People seem to love my WSO on the topic:

So you might want to check that out.

Best Regards,

Hm, So I should update my site and make it prettier and resell it? It doesn't get much traffic though. I also don't know how to monetize keywords for my site. I got into A highly competitive niche without thinking because I'm new so I'm still trying to work with it and see what I can do.

Looking for the way!

Basically if your site is already making money it could sell for at least 6x monthly earnings. Watching the sitepoint marketplace will help you get an idea of what sites sell for.

My understanding of site flipping was to purchase a site, fix it up, increase traffic etc and sell it.

Yes. That actually is the most accurate description of site flipping (same concept as house flipping). But the phrase has come to include any short term period ownership of a site and selling it off to cash in on the long term profit, now.

FYI. You should know some people involved with flipping websites
get most of the work done ie. creating the site for sale by somebody else
and still make a profit.

You have two ways.

1. Sell start up site.
Keyword research and SEO must be skills you're expertise at. Research and build. As soon it get indexed and shows traffic from SE, sell it. Describe the potential of your site as good as you can.

2. Sell established site.
Affiliate marketing should be your main weapon. Buy site with good traffic but no income. Ramp up. Put some banner or affiliate links or "call to action" or any method to monetize this site. Wait until it generate incomes. Sell, or wait again until you feel it's already at its peak. Sell.

Sounds easy?

Here is the easiest site flipping method.

Spend 1 hour to build a site. No research needed. Just buy domain. Copy paste articles and graphics. Fill it with affiliate offers. Then, sell it.

Here comes the tricky part. You must be able to convince your prospect about this "business opportunity". Say for example, Making $5000 per month Autopilot. Easy bucks. Instant cash. Ew, everyone loved this words. Make or fake your statistics, bluff 2 - 3 pages long. That's it you're ready. No need to wait for couple of days until traffic comes, or domain getting indexed.

This works. Believe it or not. I've a lot of examples, ppl are doing this. Do it or not? The answer is in your heart

Haha That sounds like something I would not be able to do yet. I'm still into basic HTML. But I have really good people skills and I can talk my way out of situations if I have to lol.

If you are new to HTML then try some outsourcing then analyze what they have done. Won't take long to work out the best ways to do things.

After outsourcing you probably won't even bother learning HTML.

I believe this is called dishonesty. You could get away with selling a site with fake stats on Ebay, but not Sitepoint. And even if you do sell it anywhere, you're going to get burned really quickly. Even the stupidest noob would smell something fishy if youw ere selling a $5000/month site for $50.

As for learning HTML, you really don't need to much of that knowledge. Just use WP, use the proper plugins, and you're good to go.

Btw, another great place to sell your content sites is DNForum.com. Even though they're more geared towards selling domains (obviously), people there also buy developed sites as well. Also, people who hang out there usually have huge budgets
