Don't start buying everything under the sun.

Spend your time finding out what it is you want to do/ learn - there are a number of different areas that each have their own learning curve.

When you know what you want to learn ask around for a coach/mentor.

Do not start buying everything under the sun

Hey Future, welcome to internet marketing.

You've got a good attitude, you want to learn, that's important.

If you're new to setting up domains and websites, you can check out the link in my sig below. If you're already familiar with web development, you need to start learning some basic SEO (search engine optimiztion) and web marketing strategies - there's a lot of them out there. Also, there ARE good guides for sale in the WSO section, but just be careful and know what you're getting before you click the 'buy' button

Begin by learning about Article Marketing. Write Articles and publish them online. This will improve your writing skills and over time you will build name recognition and set the stage for being an authority on your niche topi

What a useless reply. The man says he's "A Real Rookie".
So how the heck can he be writing articles this soon, with absolutely no knowledge?

You haven't mentioned the other factors he'll need first, such as, Website/blog
        Niche selection etc.

. . . and what's a niche topi? At least finish your posts, rather than knock 'em out to build up your numbers.

I'd recommend doing a little more research to figure out what type of path you want to take for internet marketing. Its rather big and there's a ton of various paths you can take which greatly depend on your budget and time available.

Have you done any research at all? What piques your interest?

    Hi,
I have a website for mortgages but don't know how to get it in higher rank for google and get the leads. That is one thing I'm really interested in knowing so I can attract more traffic and get leads. Also I'm interested in learning more about affiliate marketing. I know there is no quick rich formula but I have come accross some marketers selling great coaching products like Tristan Bull... Is it worth it???

There are several good courses on promoting Amazon products as an affiliate.
Jan Roos has a very good Amazon program in the WSO section.
Also, Sara Young's Easy Paycheck Formula is good.
Both products are excellent for newbies.

I'm sure you'll find someone who will help you here. Private coaching can cost a lot of money. Your best bet will be to sift through the forum posts and study what you find. There is a lot of great, free information here.

Reading and learning are good, but there are 2 main reasons why new marketers never make a dime:

    1) They don't focus on one thing long enough to make money

    2) They're always learning instead of doing!

Learning is good, but once you pick a business model (such as affiliate marketing or flipping websites) devote most of your time to WORKING- not just learning how to work.

There are endless ways to build an online business, and if you're constantly looking for more ways than you won't make anything!

If you chase two rabbits both will escape :-p

    Good luck!
