Texas Amazon Associates Might Be Spared

Hey Warriors!

Just a quick FYI - I hope this takes root in OTHER states too. As you know, Texas and Amazon have been having a pissing match about the tax issue, with Amazon threatening to pull out (and cancel our affiliate futures).

Well look what's happening:

Amazon.com negotiating deal to stay in Texas | Business | Dallas Business, Texas Busines...

They're promising to create jobs here in exchange for a tax exemption!

WOW! Love this turnaround. Hope like hell it works.

Sure hope it works out Tiffany. That might work to give some of the other states a heads up that throwing Amazon out isn't the smartest way to do things.

Well, looks like the "wrong" people pulled the right strings.

Today, Amazon starts collecting sales tax in Texas.

As an Amazon Affiliate, I'm certainly awaiting my pink slip. Time to reactivate my Commission Junction account and rework a bunch of my websites. Too darned bad.

Funniest thing, that no one seems to talk about: People don't go to Amazon to avoid sales tax! How idiotic. Anyway, shipping charges almost always end up being way more than Texas Sales Tax, even though it's pretty high.

PEOPLE GO TO AMAZON FOR THE GREAT PRICES! Something the "brick and mortar" places need to understand. You ever see the prices in some of these places downtown? They figure since they have you there, right in front of the product, that they can get away with charging you 10%, 20%, 50% more than online retailers. Shameful.

Without getting into another political spitting contest, I must say this turned out to be little else here in Texas and this isn't just the beginning.

Hopefully Colorado becomes an Amazon capable state again. I want to move there but I'd give up everything I worked for to do so
