Icontact free version - what do you sacrifice?

I plan to review icontact's free email marketing service (up to 500 subs), I'm hoping any warriors with more experience with this service can help me uncover the sacrifices you make in using this free version of their service.

I recall being a member of another free auto-responder service but the hijacks done to click-throughs was just too much for me.

What tactics does icontact employ to balance the free service?

Thanks warriors.

Limit your maximum subscribers and the amount of messages you can send out.

I use iContact (paid obviously), no real catches, just lets you get a feel for the user interface and use their service on a very small level.

A great resource for setting up (really small) local businesses with their own account.

I hope they are affiliate marketing friendly? Mail chimp offers 2000 free subs but they don't allow affiliate marketing

I see it limits it to 500 subs, 2000 mailings allowed per month, and 5000kb for image library.

Are these limitations all that they really impose for this free service?

Granted 500 members isn't much, I guess I'm a little skeptical after seeing what the last free service I was a member of was doing in order for them to keep their service profitable.
