Has Youtube Gone To far

I noticed this morning that 3 of the channels I normally listen to music on were banned overnight.

None of these stations sold anything, all music stations, no links adds any form of advertisement. With the recent crackdown by google, it appears they are going a bit to far with banning stations.

Without music and information resources why listen to youtube, if I wanted to hear funny farts, I can listen to my grandchildren, and watch kids in my neighborhood jump off skateboards and injury themselves.

Come on Google, Youtube, are you trying to run off all your listeners, remember the advertisers, and promoters are also listeners, as you continue to ban people, you are also driving away business.

Just my two cents.

They probably did not have a license to use the music they were using.

I am guessing it was copyright infringement.

Radio stations, for example, pay license fees to air music or stream it online. Why should people with YouTube channels be any different?

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

    Banned
Did the music belong to them or was it copyright infringement?

The only reason that Youtube would shut them down is because of copyright infringement. I have had content taken down and warned because of that. Youtube is VERY picky about who they let play videos. especially copyrighten material..

Well youtube is becoming more and more strict with copyright infringements. So that is likely why.

Does Youtube have a problem with videos that have links or ads?

Yes, probably was copy right infringement, don't believe videos were owned by the channels playing them, just surprised since channels have been around few years with thousands of views, but with the recent crack down no videos are excluded.
