Anyone else have this problem with 1Shoppingcart?

I'm just curious if any of you have this same issue with 1SC.

When someone orders, I have set it up for them to be emailed, through the 1SC autoresponder, the download link to the product.

I did a test order today, and I did not get the email with the download until about 30 minutes later. This is not going to be acceptable.

Anyone else notice this super slow delivery with 1SC autoresponder when setting it up with a product?

I have been using a private label of 1SC since 2002, and
have noticed that email delivery is not always "instant."

I've noticed that with other systems too.

I will, at times, cause customers to contact you
about missing downloads, one to email a minute or two
    later to say "never mind."

Thanks Willie, what do you think the average delivery time is for you?

I haven't really compiled an average or tested it... just basing my
        comment on feedback from customers.

There are also delays when affiliates sign up, new subscribers
sign up, etc. Those I have tested, and it often does take a few
minutes but they do all get through to my email addresses. It's
probably a function of how the servers que and process such
        a large volume of email.

Can the customer be taken to an instant download webpage after the order goes through?

Yes, but I've found if a person buys multiple products in one order, for which I have a download page for each (say large MP3 files for which I can't upload to the 1SC server), the customer is only going to one of the thank you pages. This means, the second product download page is not there.

I have also used this approach for years on some of our infoproducts, as Willie mentions, there are times when it moves slower than others and times when the customer has their email program configured to send most anything to their spam folder...that's where customer support comes in.

On average I find they are getting the notification within 10-minutes (often sooner) - so that is what I tell them on the "Thank You" page after they order so expectations are set.

On occasion I have received a message about not receiving the email after about 20-minutes (that seems to be the point where people get antsy).

I have a bonus package that, on these very rare occasions, I will send out to thank them for their patience...the least I can do if they are left waiting.

We have lots of volume though, and it hasn't been a big issue.

What if I do this method...

Instead of doing the autoresponder to send them an email with the link to the large MP3 file, what if I simply create a one page PDF that has a summary and download link in it. This way it is delivered to them immediately just like a PDF ebook is right after the purchase, and also emailed automatically from 1SC too?

    That may solve my issue.

Of course the downside is, they can't open the PDF file or the PDF can be passed around. I would just have to make sure I switch out the links a few times a year to make the past single page PDF's void.

You might think about adding another service like DLGuard to distribute the products and after the purchase, send them directly to their page.
