Moving my members between lists..help please

Hi everyone hope the holidays are going well for you.

I'd first like to thank all the users here who have been so kind in helping me with my questions. I have made huge progress over the last couple months and my list building is in full swing!

I may have jumped the gun a little though and now need to clean some things up.

I started giving out a free report on my site in order to entice users to opt-in to my list. So now I have users that are opted in to "list-free-product".

I have since created a pay product that builds off of the free guide. From here forward I am going to automatically offer the pay product on the backend once a user signs up for the freebie. Here is where I am confused. Should I set up a new list that users from "list-free-product" are moved to if they purchase the pay offer? I don't want to double market to the "list-free-product" if some of those users have already payed for the pay product. I'm assuming that moving them to a new list and off of the "list-free-product" is the way to go, but I just want to confirm.

I am using Aweber for my list building.

Thanks,
Eric

That sounds like the best way to do it for the people that are already on your list. Create a separate campaign for the people that have already opted into the freebie and market the pay product to them. Then use your existing set-up, directing people who opt in for the freebie, directly to your pay-product landing page and build that list that way. That way all you have to do is just change stuff around for the people that have opted in already...and you don't have to change anything around for all your future leads. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the reply Zach.

Once people opt-in for my freebie and are directed to my pay offer, should I be adding those that end up buying to a separate list? My thinking would be I want all my pay customers on a list because these people have a tendency to buy what I am offering. Does that sound correct?

    Hi,

What you are talking about is the way to go. A buyer's list is much easier to work with.

You should be able to add the option of when they are added to your buyer's list they are removed from the free list. Check the Aweber settings for this.

    Thanks,

    John

John and Chris, thanks for the info. I thought I was on the right track. Sometimes I just need to hear it from others.

I think this is the route I am going to take.

    1. I am going to send a broadcast to my current list members who have previously downloaded my free product and let them know about my pay product.

    2. I will then modify my funnel so that any future reader that signs up for the freebie is offered the pay product on the backend.

    3. If they do not purchase they stay on the freebie list

    4. If they do purchase they are moved to my pay list and delivered the pay product.

Please advise if you think I am missing anything.

    Eric,

Sounds like a plan to me. Possibly you could offer the pay product for the OTO (if you can make it a true OTO) for a reduced price. If they buy it, great. Then they could be added to new list (buyers) and unsubscribed for the free list.

Then if they don't buy the OTO, you can always send the free list info about buying the product at full price. Warm them up a bit to it.

    Thanks,

    John
