Should you write an article a day to stay on top?

Hello,
I am new to article writing (i have 3 approved articles)

I was wondering if the best method for article writing would be to write an article a day, that way you are always going to be on the front page atleast for some period of time. I have read where some people only write about 10-20 articles per niche.. but it seems like that as time goes on those articles are not effective as they are not being indexed, and they will rank low on ezines site.

Is this true, or am I thinking wrong?

Dennis

There are basically 3 ways to receive traffic from an article.

    1. Listing on Ezine's category page itself
    2. Article ranking well in search engine results
    3. Website owners publishing article on their site and referring traffic to you.

Focus on 2 & 3. You'll only stay on the front of a category page if there are less than 30 articles published after yours. Search engine results last longer. Website owners publishing your article will hopefully refer traffic as well as give you a back link which may boost your search engine results also.

    Dennis,
I actually write several articles per day, I do not always use them as soon as I write them though. Sometimes I wait a day or 2 in-between submitting and the reason is because some directories take a few days before they approve your articles.

I think you should write based on the time that you have to devote to writing. You want to make sure you spend time on getting the articles you have submitted some attention. For example social bookmarking your articles, submitting your authors rss feed (if the article directory allows that).

Also make sure you submit your articles to more then one directory - List Of Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, PageRank

Hi guys, thanks for the replies and the links.

Question: so if I set up an RSS feed, basically my articles will get published on other peoples websites who running similar content?

(I'm not even familiar with RSS)

    Thanks again

Whoa whoa. Take that same article a day and publish it to a niched blog you create...

If you want, tweak the thing and submit it to your article directories with a resource box link to said blog. For goodness sakes though man, you could have a heavy hitting and info packed authority site/blog for the same amount of work you would otherwise be putting into just writing the things and submitting them somewhere else!

      Hi,
I am submitting my articles to ezine articles. Then in a few days from now, i'm going to post in other article directories linking back to my ezine blog entry.

I do make entries into the blog as well though, I just didn't use the same content as in the article in fear of "duplicate" content.

Over time you would really just have to tweak your articles and repurpose them - they don't have to be "new" from scratch. Paraphrasing the same article multiple times is often just as effective as starting fresh.

I am very big on article marketing. I got exposed to the whole idea about 3 months ago.

It's funny because a lot of people think it's so hard to write an article. The truth is, you just have to go out there and do it!

With over 230 articles published, I see no stoping now. It is a great way to drive traffic to your website. Just rememeber to do keyword research and write around those keywords.

If your articles suck...so what! Just keep on going. They will get better.

    It's all about traffic...traffic...traffic.

    Omar!
