Are You Using Twitter For Marketing?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone had any cool Twitter marketing tricks or tips? Maybe a way of wording tweets to make people convert. I guess a "call to action" in the tweet itself.

Twitter is hard to market on in my experience. Unless you have a truly targeted list, your chances of getting just random people to buy something is slim. Thus far I have tried marketing from my list of 1000+ random people with no results.

That's my personal experience as well. I have over 5k followers and don't get the hype about using Twitter for marketing. A year ago I remember all of the stupid guru's ranting and raving about how Twitter has changed marketing forever. Hell! I get more traffic from StumbleUpon than I could ever get from Twitter!

One word. Hype. That is what some so called Gurus do. They build up Hype, cash in on it and ride off into the sunset.

      Hi,
May I ask you that how can you make a targeted list? I mean on which bases we select? Is it according to our business category or any thing else? I am new, so I want to know these things about twitter.

You're right! I guess maybe if you had a million followers you could blast out a tweet and get a few conversions out of it. The truth is, there is so much trash on Twitter that it actually sucks to me! I was hoping someone had some tips... Turns out I am right so far! lol

I hear ya. I use it mostly for tweeting about junk I find online. It's handy for passing the time. I'm at 5,750 followers now and counting. I don't promote my account at all but people just keep following me for some reason. It's not like I have anything enlightening to say.

Social media like twitter is a great way to have a conversation with your market and make and mange connections with prospects, customers, and bloggers. I feels twitter is really good tool for marketing

Twitter takes time and effort and works only when you really strike up conversations with people on your lists. The problems start when everyone on your lists just automate their tweets and leave and no one is actually around to respond to something you might have said to them. Faced that problem so many times. It can be disheartening.

But I still think it can be a great way of just sharing new stuff about your business etc. Somebody is bound to see it and may store it at the back of their minds (hopefully). Still trying to figure how to use this platform better.

In twitter you have to be more patient if you want to use it for marketing purposes, some says its working, some says its a failure. Though I have not tried it but living testimonies don't lie, choosing who to believe depends solely on your motivation to earn. As long as you have the will to earn money, you can use whatever outlets you have may it be twitter or other social media out there.

Twitter marketing is hard and it will take time. It needs to have constant updates and think of tricks to convince users to follow. Just be patient.

the real way to make money with twitter is with content lockers/CPA, like sending someone a message saying something like "this guy is saying some NASTY stuff about you and linking it to your twitter account, is it true? **link**". Then link it to a page but with a content unlocker with cpa offers. The other real way is to make an account in a good niche, find 5 other established accounts in the niche and retweet what they tweet everyday plus have your own scheduled tweets that lead to your wordpress blog....that has adsense on it. People will follow your twitter cuz they get all the info in one place, you tweet what the top 5 people tweet plus your own things, they will go to your blog to read articles. Mix in a cpa offer on your blog, boom! -- This of course won't happen overnight and will require work and testing but it can be worthwhile and maintained easily with the right softwares.

It will be effective if you have defined your target market and that you are really connected with people in that market...as soon as you have this you will then have to be a really active participant...

Twitter Marketing is effective if you really spend time for it. You need to connect to your twitter followers and make them interested about what you are selling.

  • I have 25k followers on my personal account and I have been able to make some bank off of it. I started with selling tweets on fiverr and then I realized that there was a much better way to monetize twitter traffic so I started doing the other method instead. I make approximately 500-600 a month using twitter and wordpress.

I'm not using twitter for marketing as much as possible but one thing that i really make a point to do is always include my full link in my tweets.

I've read several stories about hackers using shortened URL's to lead people to malicious sites. As a result I never click on a shortened URL like bit.ly or tiny URL.

I make sure that i display my links in the tweet so that the reader can decide whether they want to click on my link and see what i am trying to get them to click on.

The major risk with this from a visitors perspective is that you can't hover over the link and find out where it goes until you get there.

Perhaps using a full URL in a tweet can help build trust.

I stopped seeing twitter as a spamming tool, and started using it as a SOCIALIZING tool and relationship building tool.

Twitter has allowed me to very easily connect with successful people in a niche I am passionate about.

I find it much more useful using it this way rather than constantly promoting affiliate products.

    Hope this helps

My clients that are using twitter vs facebook are getting much better sucess on facebook. So many people have multiple twitter accounts, but only one facebook account! Remember people have to see the tweet pretty much at the time you sent vs facebook where they get updates. A lot of people default on facebook to top vs most recent so if you have a page with a lot of fans, chances are higher your update will stay higher on peoples facebook news feed....and you can have an image, video, etc......

I just recently got into using twitter and have been finding it pretty difficult. It's filled with so much spam that quality updates about a blog post or something like that doesn't really get through. It doesn't work like other social networks where you are supposed to actually be social...at least..not that I know of.

While successful marketing through Twitter may be one of the more abstract social networks to master, it is definitely not useless. One tactic for finding consumers through Twitter is to search for trending topics in your category. Using hash tags and even just maintaining a presence can be beneficial.

Twitter is great for marketing. The most important thing you have to remember is that you have to add/follow people that are interested in what you have to offer. For ex: if you're offering a business/opportunity, you want to add/follow people who are looking for work opportunities. Good luck!
