I hope this doesn't affect any of the reliability and good service that I have been experiencing with Godaddy for years now (although some people feel quite the opposite).

There is actually a REQUIREMENT that any backend changes are certified and accepted. It is an ICANN requirement. ALSO, they are responsible ONLY for the whois info. The user interface changes, and is JUNK as far as I am concerned! You should have NO concerns.

Great share, I actually was just overhearing someone next to me talk about this. I'm at a Starbucks, sounds like its an interesting deal. GoDaddy is the biggest player in domain registration with a variety of sources of income. Great business albeit a slightly tarnished reputation.

Personally speaking what Bob Parsons did was a sickening show of affluence that deserves a hot seat in hell. It's the kind of thing bored, fat, rich white men do to make themselves feel better about who they are.

As I recall, he isn't fat. But this sounds like a racist/classist statement to make!

Wouldn't it be funny if the firms that bought it were run by gays. So instead of the GoDaddy girls we'd have...

Oh gosh, I'll just stop right there. I'll tell you this, we'd have a new entry for HowToPissPeopleOff.com. LOL

Having GIRLS is bad enough. I never actually watched the videos, but some of the commercials make me imagine.... If homosexual men acted like that, they may lose customers.

$2.5 billion. You know when I think of those kind of numbers I see myself either dancing around in boxers, or, lying on the ground unconscious smiling seeing a bright light. Although, still shy of my personal ambitions.

FYI: Anyone, who has been behind the scenes, and, privy to sensitive information of billion dollar businesses PM me. I got questions.

From what I have heard, it could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and at their old prices at least, it would be a slow ride getting your money back, at least from domains only.

Too bad they charge $11.99 for a .COM, I could get 2 .COMs and .INFO for that at most places! Their hosting's about normal though, still their domain prices just scare me.

Sources estimate that GoDaddy brought in between $750 million and $800 million in revenue in 2009. If so...those numbers would certainly support estimates such a price...
