  • 99% of everyone who starts fails, I would first try to figure out how to make money when you start getting money you can go to a lawyer in Athens to fix you with the Greek government so they can take their cut (not that I like that). But don't worry about legal upfront I notice that most people who worry about that first never make a dime, just my 2 cents. I made my first money illegally then solved the problem later it was just a matter a cutting a check to a law firm. I hope this helps.

I don't know the law in Greece, but here in Canada we have something like 4 months after the first sale to create your business. It shouldn't be a big worry before you get sales.

Don't lie to your customers. Don't mislead prospective customers to buy your products. Deliver exactly what you say you will, when you say you will.

Do not take peoples money for a non-existent product and then start creating it.

Tell how you plan to use their private information if you collect it.

    Don't spam.

If you plan to use affiliates to sell your stuff use a 3rd party service like ckickbank OR if you do it in house pay affiliates on time and don't randomly delete your affiliates and keep the customers they brought into you and all the money. This is a secret tactic some marketers use when they get into tight financial situations.

Be truthful, don't mislead anyone, don't take advantage of people and put in writing what you will and wont do and what recourse if any the customer has.

Also put into writting your refund policy. Even if you don't give refunds, put it in writing so people know this.

For your sake do NOT hide these policies so people can't find them easily and do not use small lettering or color match the text to blend with the back ground. Also do not use other marketers legal policies because most of them are not legally correct. Just because you see the samething being done or used over and over on many sites, does NOT mean that it is correct just that there are a lot of lazy people out there.

There are a lot more but follow those basics and you will be ahead of most that do not do these things.

    Talk to an attorney.

I've had to do this a few times myself. It's the only way to get real answers. When I ran an internet-based business in Virginia, I had to talk to an attorney about that.

When I started selling custom-built computers, I had to talk to another one. The results of that talk were that I stopped selling custom-built computers. Sometimes you find out "being legal" means completely destroying your profit margin and competitive advantage, because you really aren't smarter and better than every other company out there - you just don't know all the licenses and expenses involved.

When I moved to Washington, I had to talk to another attorney about it. And when I started selling infoproducts online, you guessed it, another attorney. Later this year, I'm going to start selling some physical products, which means... yep. I'll be talking to an attorney.

I have never regretted the expense. Every single time I talk to an attorney, I learn something that saves me money or trouble or even jail time.
