Is it just me or there others on here tired of Godaddy's navigation changes? They've changed the site around so much that it makes it hard to find how to cancel a service and the automatic renewal of items plus the constant autoreminders to renew products is so annoying.

I get autorenewal reminders for a domain that isn't even expiring for two months! Anyone else want to rant?

Sounds like you might be better off transferring your domains somewhere else if they bother you so much. I've heard that some people like NameCheap, maybe that might suit you better.

I always want to rant about GoDaddy, but I suppose there isn't much point, really ... and I'm not sure it's an asset to the forum ... the thing is, anyone doing any "due diligence" here about registrars/hosts is never going to touch them for hosting anyway, and for domain-names, well ... their prices aren't terrible even if everything else sucks, and to some people "everything else" doesn't matter so much.

I switched for the most part to NameCheap a long time ago (and wished I'd done it earlier).

I do still have some .info domain-names at GoDaddy, because they sell them for $1 and give you free privacy-protection if you buy 5+ in one transaction (NameCheap charges $2.99 each, I think). But I'm not buying any more there, now, and will transfer all my remaining ones to NameCheap when they're close to expiry ... so in less than a year I'll be rid of them.

I have a couple of older domains with Godaddy but I won't come near them for anything that is mission-critical. Their TOS allows them to take your website away (and I've heard of people losing their sites because someone reported their emails as being spam and originating from a Godaddy-registered domain.

"f Go Daddy determines the services in question are being used in association with spam, Go Daddy will re-direct, suspend, or cancel any web site hosting, domain registration, email boxes or other applicable services for a period of no less than two (2) days. The registrant or customer will be required to respond by email to Go Daddy stating that they will cease to send spam and/or have spam sent on their behalf. Go Daddy will require a non-refundable reactivation fee to be paid before the site, email boxes and/or services are reactivated. In the event Go Daddy determines the abuse has not stopped after services have been restored the first time, Go Daddy may terminate the hosting and email boxes associated with domain name in question. To Report Spam Abuse: We encourage all customers and recipients of email generated from our products and services to report suspected spam. Suspected abuse can be reported by email or through our Spam Abuse Compliant Center on the Web."

Check this out: You pay regardless of whether you're right or wrong. You need to respond via email, which is down because they shut down your domain.

All my Godaddy domains are set to manual renew. If I don't want to get any more notices and plan on not renewing the domain, I just go in and delete it. Done. No more notices.

Navigation. Haven't really even noticed it.

I got tired of them a while ago and switched to namecheap.

After reading this, I'm glad I did.

I've been around this forum a while, now. You can't possibly imagine
the number of people during all those years who have come on the forum
ranting about how their domain expired and they lost their entire business.

    They were with GoDaddy.

As you know GoDaddy very diligently attempts to remind
many times over a period of several weeks that your domain
    will be expiring.

Some people will bitch if they do... some people will bitch if they don't.

I think the common denominator there is obvious...

I've been with GoDaddy for many years. I have scads of domain
names and several hosting plans with them. I've never had a serious
problem with any of their services and I find their 24/7 customer service
via telephone to be exemplary. Their customer service people are
prompt, beyond courteous, and very knowledgeable. I love their customer
    service.

I truly have never understood the almost universal hatred of
GoDaddy on the Warrior Forum. Sometimes you just have to
accept that things are what they are and live with it... so, I do.
