Hello, I have been making money on the internet for the best part of 10 years. I have had multiple sites earning over $10k a month. I feel like i am qualified to write a website about making money online.

However, before starting i want to get some feedback on the quality of my writing. I am in the process of writing a free ebook .

Long story short, what do you think of my articles?

You may get some takers to download your file from file factory, but if there was a different way to see the content without needing to download something from file factory, you might get more opinions.

You have positioned yourself as a well known expert in this field. If that is indeed the case, then your tone may work with some people. The part about not being in it for the money, that could work with some people.

The document about writing web content is brief, it is like an overview article. Nothing wrong with that, as long as there is a follow on section. Perhaps a section that shows people what it means to write in a conversational tone of voice.

I think writing that way is good, its a difficult skill to master for some because when you use it, you can't really write how you talk. If you did, your content would read like a twitter or facebook post instead of web content.

Its probably more difficult to master than learning to write with a formal structure.

But as an introduction to writing web content, it sounds pretty good.

Overall, your writing is good, and you have definitely presented your point of view, which is good for helping people to decide if they think like you do. And want to read more of your writing or take the action you suggest.

    Looked alright.

Not bad but not on the edge of my seat good. lol

Keep at it though, you got the touch for writing, but not fibbing.

As anyone with 10k a month is not going to tell others how to do it, or even take the time to do anything like this for that matter. =]

My story is pretty simple. I have had multiple sites earning over $10k a month. One site i sold two years ago for low 6 figures.

Before that i had a site making $30k a month, mostly through search traffic and i got my site penalised by google which dropped it down to about $3k a month. I eventually got rid of that site.

After that i took time off and made a bunch of money playing poker online.

Since then i have started a number of sites. Making anything from 0-1k a month. For some reason i have become really unmotivated with these plain affiliate sites. Its not just about money for me now.

I want to make money teaching people how to make money. Giving away the information i have learnt over the past 10 years etc. I kind of just want to create the best possible website i am capable of creating. Something that when i look at it, i will go, wow thats amazing, i did that.

I think my skillset best suits me for creating a website on making money online.

Thats what i plan to do.

      Thanks for your feedback.

If I may make a suggestion. With your past success you could really position yourself as the 'go to guy' if thats what you wanted. I suggest you take a look at Pat Flynns blog at smartpassiveincome.com or Chris Guthrie's makemoneyontheinternet.com. Both have positioned themselves well, both make big money and both give all their info away for free.

It wouldn't be a bad plan of action to model your website on what these guys have done...with your own twist of course.

        Good luck!

          You rock.

You demonstrate that you follow your own advice.

          Your advice is sound.

Your writing is powerful because you appear to be telling the truth, from the heart.

I am familiar with Pats site. He puts out a lot of good content. I have a problem with a lot of the make money online guys though. They make money primarily by endorsing products or services that make them money.

Like Pat for example, the stuff he endorses in his niche site series will allow someone to make a niche site that potentially makes a few hundred dollars a month and requires A TON OF WORK to get to that point. Where he makes 30k a month endorsing the products that allow people to make a few hundred dollars a month.

What people do not realise is that the way to profit big on the web is to create a site that is remarkable. Mini sites are bull****. Pat is remarkable and makes a remarkable website. You can learn a lot more from analysing how he makes money that from actually listening to what hes selling.

Also dont get me wrong. im not saying that creating an amazingly valuable site is the only way to make money.

I have found that the following has worked exceptionally well in the past.

    Create an amazingly valuable site.
Market the content. Attract a lot of natural links, build links, do the ususal jazz.
Throw up pages designed purely to make money on the site.
Funnel traffic to your money pages. Rank your money pages.

You will make most of your money just by ranking for stuff you can sell and sending traffic from your other pages to the money page. But the other stuff is what creates the value. That helps you rank for the stuff your selling, get the traffic and get the links needed.

I guess your gonna say Duhh. But making money is pretty simple. People search for things. You want to come up first so they buy from clicking through your link.

Or you want people to come to your site, be interested in the **** you have for sale and convert them that way. Either way is fine :-)

Thats how i made my money.

Sounds good, brother. Nothing wrong with your writing at all, and putting together a program that can help folks learn the way you did it, that would be a welcome addition to this market.

    Andy,

In my opinion, getting into the IM niche is just like any other niche. If you provide quality and accurate content, the money will come with it. If the quality of your writing isn't up to par, you can always outsource the editing of your articles.

I guess I get to be the downer. I found the two samples pretty average. Both could benefit from some polishing. There's a difference between conversational prose and sounding like a transcript. Good start, though.

Personally, I've become very wary of the "I just want to help you succeed" approach. It might be true in your case, with your background, but a lot of people are not going to buy it.

That's because most people can't afford altruism, so they go looking for hidden motives. If they don't find them, they make 'em up.

On the plus side, you sound like you know what you are talking about. You've obviously convinced the other posters in this thread.
