Why You MUST Participate On This Forum

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to share some of my first experiences of being an active part of this forum. It's my impression that this forum has a ton of visitors that are only reading the forums and not participating. If this is the case for you, you are really not getting the value you could from it. I know because the most of my time knowing about IM I have also known about WF, but I read stuff on these forums. Never took part in the discussions.

I registered my profile about a month ago and honestly I did it primarily because I learned about forum marketing through a WSO so the whole idea of registering was actually to use WF signature to drive traffic.

I would try to find posts here on WF asking questions I could help with and provide good answers to them. I would also participate in discussions that had my interest. Doing this made me my first affiliate sale ever.

But here's the thing. Allthough I did these things to drive traffic to a landing page with an affiliate offer, the clicks I got to that page and the sale I made really is nothing compared to how valuable it is to be part of a community like this.

What taking part of the discussions here on WF has done for me, is that I feel less "alone" in IM. I'm not kidding myself, so I understand that only I can create my business but it still feels like I'm not doing it entirely alone, and it really helps me to take action on a daily basis.

And I am really amazed at how helpful people are here. About 4 days ago I posted a thread asking what people would do if they had to start over from scratch with their business, and I think that more than 30 people replied to it. That really boggles my mind. So many people willing to reply to a thread in which I really didn't provide much value. And many of those answers were very good so the thread ended up having a ton of valuable information. You can see it here if I've made you courious.

Also it is so enjoyable to be able to help others. I can't help but to smile every time I notice that someone clicked the "Thanks" button on one of my posts.


So by being an active member you will be able to drive daily traffic through your signature. It will not be tons of traffic, but you will get traffic, and it is very targeted. Besides from that you will also be building trust here that can help you in the long term with your business. And best of all, you will most likely get a ton of pleasure from it.

I hope that some of you got something from this, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject.

    I think that IM forums have helped so many people it's not even funny.

    Without them, only nerds and techies would be in the IM business. lol

      I just thought of something I'd like to add. If you use your sig to send traffic to a squeeze page and spend a little time here helping people out every day, you could probably build a list of 200 people in maybe 3 months or so. Then you could start looking for adswap partners in the joint venture section or at a service like Ad swap list building with Safe-Swaps and build your list even faster.

      You would need to be patient, but this could be a way to start a business.

        200 in 3 months is pretty lazzy if you're considering posting some posts every day

        I would like to add just my two cents over that. People here are often beginners and doesn't look at their business model. Don't think online is different than offline. It was my biggest mistake 13 months ago when I started.

          Yeah, I know. I didn't want to "promise" too much. It tends to be more fun if you expect something to be very hard and it then turns out to be easier

          So I agree. Those numbers are aiming low.

    I've made a killing off things in my signature. It works. Period. Being active in the community allows you to develop relationships and discuss ideas you may not have thought of before.

      Totally agree on this one. Your eyes open to new ways of viewing different things and it helps develop more beneficial ways of thinking.

      A real life example of this is the whole idea of saturation. I used to be kinda scared of what would happen when enough products where thrown at a particular market. "Wouldn't that satisfy the market so eventually noone would want to buy anymore"

      This forum has opened my eyes to how hungry people are to buy more information even though they actually know enough to take action and start getting results.

    I've learned quite a bit since joining. I've also found some great tools posted in the threads that I didn't know existed.

    What I really like about the board is the different opinions. When you listen to a "guru" you get one opinion. If you post the question here you get different people posting about their particular real life experience on the topic. This helps a lot

    Very excellent point, TJ. That's coming from someone who spent almost 3 full months only reading the stuff here and never really participating until this month.

    Theres so much value in participation. Indeed outside of just getting things done this is the best way to learn as the commucation that takes place here shortens learning curves and allows those without experience a chance to learn from those with experience on what things are a good use of time versus a waste of time.

    I hope this thread reaches ppl out there who are like I used to be...

    Another reason to participate is so you can send PM's. That is kind of frustrating when you need to communicate with someone but can't because you haven't hit the 50 post mark. Oh well, only 8 more to go

    I must admit I've been a lurker on WF for quite a while now and only started to actively participate recently. I've learned so much from my fellow Warriors and felt it's time to make some contribution.

    What I really like about WF is the many first-hand user reviews/experience that can be found here. That is truly invaluable. Everything you need to be successful at IM is contained in these forums. There are a lot of gems in here. Tread these WF waters carefully and cautiously and you'll hit your own little jackpot when you least expect it.

    What's so valuable about this forum is learning from other people's experiences so we do not make the same mistakes and waste valuable time or -in the other hand- we learn what works and we save valuable time. However, forums can become addictive if we are not disciplined to restrict the amount of time we spend here, so the whole purpose of coming here could be fruitless if we spend 20 hours a day in the forum but no positive, constructive and productive ACTION is taken...

    I have said it once and will say it again....

    the stuff here on the forum is responsible for making big money, some major breakthroghs and have got newbies to quit their job.

    So is this forum crappy... you be the judge! lol.

    If the warrior forum was not there for me in the early days, well.... i just dunno...

    You are very right. I joined maybe a few months ago and since then I haven't been really into leaving remarks yet but more so just looking around, getting in all the information and just by looking at the many different helpful topics, you see how willing people are to actually help someone in need.

    I actually just learned a new tip on here, with in minutes from now.

    I always imagined IM to to be somewhat cut throat, in which everyone is strictly for self. Coming to WF I've soon noticed different.

    Whilst I agree with the OP, there's the flip side of the consumer's viewpoint and I, for one, fit into this category. There's the danger of reading sigs and constantly filling in your details on the squeeze page, only to keep hopping from report to report. The next thing you know, your email is being 'spammed' (I know, it might not actually be spam) and you're easily confused about which way to turn.

    I for one, try to avoid looking at sigs now and try and focus on the content of the post. This is only due to my personal experience though.

    Anyways, I'm rambling! This is a great community right here and I spend countless hours reading a heap of great posts only to realise that sometimes I should stop reading and actually taking action on the advice I've read. Finally, I've taken action and am very excited about my prospects.

      I was the same.

      *STANDS UP* My name is Edwin and I had a lurking problem

      I would give myself half an hour to lurk each day and would sit with a pen and paper and take notes of ideas that sprung to mind while reading posts and then would close the browser and think how to implement them and then would implement them.

      And then I would do the same thing over and over.

      I see WF as an encyclopidia where I come to find out what others have to say about something I am thinking about but do not feel the need to read the whole encyclopidia but just the parts I am working on.

        Great positive stuff here. There are too many posts which I agree with to reply to all. I have left a few Thanks though.

        I'm an ex lurker too - until the day I found a question I could actually answer with confidence, and help someone else!

        Now there's no stopping me.
        Aside fom the odd elaboration on someone else's post, I can safely say that I am making a valid contribution here and there.

        It only slowly dawned on me that there are other benefits too, when I started getting visitors to my site directly from the WF.

        While I readily admit that I'm learning a lot from others; I'm pleased to say that I'm also passing it on. I love this involvement, as it gets pretty isolated out here sometimes.

        I have actually made a few sales via WF, and I'm currently helping five newbie Warriors directly, guiding them on to their next step, without any sort of charge.

        Almost whatever stage you are at, you should quickly find there's someone who knows less, and could do with some caring guidance.

        There's tons of that here.

          The Warrior Forum is a great source of information and provide a means for marketers to 'market'. But we can become so engrossed in the forum that it literally takes up all our time just browsing through threads and posting comments. Then we're back to square one.

          There are a lot of benefits for joining. I used to just browse the forum whenever I need some info, but I find it irritating when I couldn't comment or send a PM. Joining the forum allows you to 'participate' and build online connections. The best part? you can send PM's (when you reach post count of 50, that is

          So true! Personally, I am interested in several aspects of IM. Whenever I see a good thread, I read through and post and buy. Then I look up and see another interesting thread, and read through, and post a comment. The same thing repeats until I have the urge to go the loo or feel a bit peckish, then I realise I nearly spent a day in the forum. That's how addicting it can be!

          What I do to counter this behaviour is to set up a timer using Timer - E.ggTimer.com so I'll know when to stop. I use it for my other IM tasks as well. It helps a lot with productivity.

          When I was just starting to learn about IM, I subscribed to every list that gives out free info about anything related to making money online. Then I got tons of emails I barely have time to delete, let alone read. Don't get me wrong, there are marketers who send out valuable info. How about the others? You'll get sent one promotional email after another!

          Even when I hit the unsubscribe button, I still get spam mails. But I don't know who's selling my email address because I subscribed to a lot of lists.

          Anyway, the lesson I learned is to 'differentiate' and focus on mastering one area before starting on another. I always keep telling myself that

    This forum is OK, but there's a lot of rubbish on here these days. It's also a bit of a ponzi scheme, with people selling WSO's to each other.

    Best thing is to find something that works, then do more of it.

    I've started posting more lately rather than just reading. I'm really enjoying it! I've been a member for quite a while and didn't realize until I started posting more how enjoyable it is to participate in discussions rather than just reading and clicking off. I do feel much more connected to the IM community, and that's a great thing.

    Just the positive attitude you have reminds me why I like communities like this.

    Sure there is a bit of garbage inherent in the forum (flames, fakes, etc.) but it's utterly stupid to let that aspect of the community blur the fact that this place is an overall positive thing.

    I agree that being a participant is important. I've done a lot of lurking because I don't think I have the knowledge to give people regarding internet marketing. I'm trying my best to be at least supportive and offer advice in areas that I am comfortable in.

    PS I think spending time here can be great, BUT to really the get most out of it you have to provide some sort of value. That's how you build trust.

    WF is IM and online marketing university; you can't beat the tuition. Seldom do I arrive here without learning something new. I suspect many people earn full time IM incomes as a result of joining WF. I'm on my way and I know I'd be far more clueless without WF than with it.

    I have only been around for less than a month and I think it's great! I particularly like seeing how people are so willing to provide the best solutions they can find. There was even a thread I joined a few days ago about a warrior asking where to earn money by the end of the week to pay for bills...and I was amazed by the tons of offers that she got. The good people are here...

    I would say that the forum is a great networking oppurtunity and a good place to maybe bounce some new idea/strategy around, but it is really a small piece of the puzzle. The most successful marketers are out there actually doing something.
