Hi warriors,

In this site you can find a list of pinging services for wordpress, it was updated on may 2011.

You can pick the pinging services you like here.

    Pingler, one of the batch posting tools, logs the sites it pings to, several of the above are on it's list.

    Not the big variety of countries the blogsearch.google pings are for, I cut out most of them for my purposes.

    Oh My... not another old outdated large list of bad sites.

    Do yourself (and everyone here) a favor and delete that list NOW!!!

    If you have to ask why, then you really shouldn't be spreading bad lists around.

        YES! Most of those links are dead (and have been dead for 5+ years. Some of the domains have died, be re-bought- and dropped over and over. They haven't been active ping sites in half a decade.

        Then you have a site like pingomatic, which is the standard default for WP. That ping site pings nearly all the active ping sites out there, so when you have that included in the list and then the same sites listed individually, you are over pinging (spamming) their networks, and they receive a 'timeout' so they don't actually ping again regardless.

        So, behind the scenes, you make a new post and then WP goes to work, it starts hitting dead sites, duplicates that receive timeout warnings and nothing happens except your site gets bogged down (and can sometimes crash temporarily) creating excessive server loads and slow load times. All bad things. Not to mention excessive spamming of these active sites could result in them banning your IP, but that is hard to tell as we don't have access to their behind the scenes system.

        There are links in your post that have been dead more more than 5 years!

        Your new, up to date list will be less than 5 links, maybe just 1-3. Then you can share something beneficial instead of harmful to us.

          Yes i will do that, but i have sites on first page of google and i always use that list, so i do not see why the list is harmful, but i am not expert or have a pick on the behind the scenes like you said. So yes i will fix the list
