Trying to find a niche? Why not create your niche around "how to find a niche". If you are having a hard time maybe there is a market to create a solution. Find the solutions to issues people are having, build a website, offer free information via a signup form to build a mailing list, etc, etc.

    Just a thought....

You could also go to Clickbank.com and enter the marketplace. See what products are selling and develop a game plan that way.

Nothing to see here folks.....move along.

Stop spamming the forum with your own link. You've been around long enough to know better. Shame on you.

If you like technology niches then you need to start at the top and break your niche down. So for example you like the idea of promoting laptops for example

But that's very broad. So you need to look at sub-niches within that. So instead of just laptops you could look at:

    Student Laptops
    Cheap Student Laptops
    Gaming Laptops
    Desktop Replacement Laptops
    Ultra Portable Laptops

Once you find a sub-niche you like the sound of then you can start looking at your keyword research with Micro Niche Finder or just the Google Keyword Tool if you're on a budget.

Assemble as many keywords as you can in relation to your sub-niche and then start creating content based on those. A mix of 2 - 3 word phrases and longtail phrases (5 - 6 word phrases) on your site and in articles will give you the maximum benefit.

    Hope that helps :-)

And if you're still stuck then just Google "Uncovery Report" by Michael Campbell - he did a better of job in that (free) report than I ever could do here :-)

That's great advice Nial, think more, use the google keyword tool, no point in spending money just to drill down and find your sub-niche.

The more specific you get with your niche the better. Don't try to take on all of technology. You may consider choosing a piece of technology that you use yourself and put up a niche product review site for that product.

For example (taking from another example): student laptop computers...review 3-5 different ones pros/cons... you have affiliate setup with all of them so no matter which one they choose (if they buy from your site) you will get a bit of a commission.

Remember the old saying "niche and grow rich". So true... the more you can niche down, the easier it is to dominate in your market.

An example... I was working with a client in the weight loss market. SUPER competitive, and not cost effective to even consider Adwords... tough, tough... so she was a tax cpa in a previous life... so she niched to exercise and weight management for tax professionals - citing how she can relate being stuck in your office... and came up with stuff they could do in their office.

Think about what your past business, social and personal life experiences can teach others, and apply it to your niche.

      Hope that helps!

Check out some great technology items on Amazon and plug those keywords into the Google Keyword Tool. You should get some great ideas for long tail keywords. Long tail keywords can be relatively low competition and therefore great for your website and revenue.

The best way to get started in the technology niche is to decide if you want to cover a specific area in the tech niche such as reviews on laptops, phones, etc.

You can then create a simple Wordpress Review Blog on that sub technology niche such as Laptop Reviews, etc. You can also do a broad technology review blog that covers all the technology areas.

With my review blogs, I have found that people really want to go to a review blog that covers a specific sub technology niche such as Laptop reviews, etc. One popular niche in this area is Tablet reviews.

Just get a domain name that has the word review in it such a TabletReview.com or the like and then load a Wordpress Blog on it with a related Wordpress Theme. Then get a nice graphic header created at FiveRR.com for $5.00. You can then write some posts reviewing the products in your niche with a nice graphic in each post.

You can add you affiliate marketing items such as Clickbank products, Amazon products, Amazon Store items, Commission Junction type items, etc. to your widget boxes so they will show up on the right side of your blog.

You get the idea. Just pick your area and get started. Once you get things setup, then you can send followup questions to the forum on what to do next.

Find a niche you can think more. It means, you've own knowledge around it. Choosing a familiar niche is better than going for a complete strange niche since you've to do lot of works with own knowledge.

Think about something you're passionate about...

Don't worry about the competition. If you're passionate about the subject, people will see your passion and visit your site.

If you are passionate about technology, then go ahead and make your website about the latest gadgets. You can then promote affiliate offers along with your articles.
