Pre Recorded Webinars

I am looking into using a service that allows to pre-record a webinar
and automatically play it at a scheduled time so people
dialing in would get the impression that it was live at that time.

GotoWebinar (I called them) say that you cannot do it.

Now I know this can be done, but I don't want to spend hundreds for a program or hosting service to do this.

Any suggestions?

In my opinion you should never tell people you'll be on a live webinar when it's really prerecorded and I know I'm not the only marketer who feels that way.

That being said I believe WebEx offers that technology and they have a 2 week free trial.

      I agree with ya man.

If your gonna do something like this, call it an "Online Event" instead of a webinar. This way you won't have to lie to people and give them a fake impression.

With that said, all the BIG BOYS are KILLING IT with automated webinars right now. They are SUPER hot.

  • You can also use aWeber, and record the webinar.

Then send people to your recorded webinar as a live one.

But I agree with fitz10 that that kind of gray area, false scarcity type of thing is something I would steer clear of.

Also, if you just start giving a weekly webinar at the same time each week, it doesn't matter how many people show up, you will be training yourself to give better webinars, and you will program your list to expect it on that night.

I know ... I am just not that good at speaking live at an unknown audience.

So you can just say, "Listen to my pre-recorded webinar" or do a video.

I can relate I get nervous too.

        Then don't talk to strangers...

Imagine while you are talking that you are talking to a good friend, who is really interested in what you are talking about.

You are not nervous around your friends are you?

I can't remember who it was, but I remember a well known marketer saying that unless you have a rock-solid delivery system, not to do pre-recorded webinars. He said that too many things could go wrong. I haven't personally done a pre-recorded one, but I would imagine if you can find a solid system/company to deliver them for you, you should be okay.

    Laura,

Nothing wrong with pre-recording your webinars, just be sure to keep the dates clean (if you know what I mean).

If you record something that is is truly evergreen then you can have it play time and time again.

Here's the best service for this: Automated Webinar Generator

One off start up fee, but worth it for a huge range of features.

I would just outright say that it is pre-recorded. Then maybe post a blog so that your viewers can discuss it with you and other viewers.

These probably are better suited to marketers with fairly seasoned lists, who've developed the trust factor. For new lists, I'd say live webinars are the way to go. Unless, of course, you don't really care about interacting directly with your "tribe."

    AutoWebinarPlayer is a good one.

You definitely shouldn't say its live if its not.
