Where Does A Guy Like Me Start?

Hey guys, I have finally come to a conclusion to what I should do to start making money online!, and it's ask you guys where I should start!

Now there are loads and loads of ways to make money online, but the first thing I need to do is build upon something. I Don't think I have anything to sell or service, I don't know what to advertise and I don't know much about SEO..

So where do I start when I don't have all these things..I was thinking of starting off with ebay but like I said I don't "think" I have much to sell.

I've thought about SEO but i don't even have a website selling anything..
and thought about PPC but not much interest in that field..then I thought about affiliate marketing and I know nothing about it.

So where do I start? Maybe this could be useful for people who have the same problem as me and could really become a useful thread to read and see what kind of ideas people can give or recommend some ebooks that could help in this path.

Thank you for your read guys!

Ebay is a great place to start out and thats how I started and I still have a decent income from my ebay store to this day.

Ebay will teach you about a few skills that you will need no matter what direction you take

Using ebay you will learn how to

    *write advertisments (listings)
*set up and use a paypal account
    *handle customers
    *learn to be organised

    And lots lots more.

Maybe start out selling a few things from around the house (small cheap items to start with) and see how you go.

After this you will know if ebay is for you or if you want to learn something else but like I have said you will have new skills from it.

    Good luck

I'd say that you should start with something you really like.

Since you don't really know what direction to go in then you should think about what kind of hobbies and interests you have. Chances are that if you're interested in something then other people will be as well. It could be anything from collecting things to building things or just playing video games.

Lets say you like painting table top gaming figures like Warhammer. Think about the different ways you could monetize this interest. You could create a blog about Warhammer, you could have a website with tutorials about painting the figures, you could offer a service where you paint other people's figures or you could just sell the figures you make. Then decide which path would be economically viable and fits in with your time constraints.

There are tons of things you can promote but it's always best to do something that you enjoy. That is part of the reason most of us have decided to work for ourselves, so that we can turn an interest into a business.

Everything else will come to you with time.

I'd have to agree with the quality of Ed's course.

However, I think you'll need to supplement your "30 Day Challenge" education and learn some of the other important skills needed to be successful in business such as a basic understanding of how to sell, how to manage and invest your money, how to write and communicate clearly. These skills are so elementary it's ridiculous but it's crazy how often they are overlooked.

I do think some of the online auction sites such as Ebay are a decent start for those just getting started because you can apply all of those principles in one place, and see some returns from your effort.

      Good Luck.

What do you think of Anik Singal's Empire Formula, Income Hybrid or A Niche Market....to get things going? Already have been reviewing these....

  • My advice is make sure you get off on the correct foot. What you've so perfectly identified is that the volume of opportunities is huge. For me it is about starting off with the right mindset. Get that right and any one of the great opportunities other warriors have suggested on here will pay dividendes.

For me the key thing will be to view yourself as a business and act accordingly. By that I mean, don't get sucked into opportunity after opportunity not really doing any of them. Once you get sucked into buying one thing after another you will bleed cash like there is no tomorrow. Everything you do should be about bringing money to your account.

I mention this because once you start doing this it is too easy to get sucked into a mindset that starts you buying product after product after product and tinkering with system after system. Don't do it because that is where many an IM seeker has crashed their ship on the rocks.

This is exactly what I tend to do..as soon as I don't understand a concept i lose focus and try to move on to a different book or thing..and see if that works for me..I guess I just have problems understanding the terms..and i'm visually better at understanding something rather then reading it

You have loads of tips and ideas here, I would just add that learning the basics is essential, and ignore the bright shiny push button stuff, it wastes your time and money because in the end to really make it work you have to learn the ground rules.

    Enjoy your jouney.

Promoting CPA´s also can be an ideal way to get into the IM Niche.
You can sign up for some CPA networks, and start prote their CPA offers.
Maxbounty and Commision Junction is just 2 out of many, but those to are fairly easy to get accepted into, and they both have a good reputation :-)

Well if you don't have much money to pay and start then you'd have to go for free otherwise if you do have the money I would say go with MLSP..you can even do a $14 trial for $9.97 and if you really get the boat out the dock with that you can learn a ton in 2 weeks from all they have to offer..Otherwise I would say go with Ed's Challenge

I started with ebay, and it is still the most profitable thing I do on the internet. There are so many things you can do on there, with ready-made traffic.
You can sell info products (as hardcopy items), you can import items from China, you can drop ship, or you can sell stuff from around the house, or things that you pick up at charity shops or garage sales.......

    Love ebay!

      Hi Miraclem
You having the problem most people have when they first get started so many options but which one is best for you.

If you going to sell anything online make sure its digital, so it can be delivered by email. That will make things much easier for you.

If I were in your situation right now I know were I would start. First I would get a PLR product. because 90% of the work is already done for you.

(For thoose of you who dont know what PLR is, its a premade product that you can rebrand and claim as your own you keep any money made from it)

A PLR product will eliminate things like thinking of an idea, make the product.

So the only thing you have to concentrate on is generating the traffic. so you can practice all the traffic generating techniques you've probably heard about and filter out which ones work and which ones don't and earn some money in the mean time. Then you can purchase some more plr product and increase you range.

Then go into making your own products. All of this will be valuable experience.
But what you learn by doing this is the tools techinques and the mind set to sell online. so you can then apply the skills to other markets.

Now I do happen to own a plr website were I provide people like your self with
PLR webscripts and wordpress plugins along with website sales letter and videos each month. If anyone is interested please take a look at PLR codemine.

Also I will be releasing a free ebook in a few days on how to promote plr products and building a business around them.

So If anyone is interested send me a pm and I will give you a copy.

      Thanks

I'm also some-what new to making money online. I began my Internet Marketing venture about 4 months ago and so far I've made about 500 bucks. I made most of this money promoting dating site offers and I made a few dollars with some basic email/zip submit offers. The first dollar i made online was from a email/zip submit Offer that paid $1.40 per email. The offer was for a Free Iphone. I found the offer on Peerfly which is a Cost Per Action (CPA) network. I took the offer, made about 20 business cards (front and back) with the link to my offer on the business cards, went to about 3 different laundry cleaners, and posted my business cards on their bulletin boards. I made about 15 dollars in 2 days. Not a big deal at all but the point is I saw results because I took action. Out of all the ebooks that i've read, or all the posts that I've read here on the warrior forum, the most important thing I've learned is that you have to TAKE ACTION. Don't look at it as taking a risk, think of it as taking action. And you must start small, don't expect seeing thousands of dollars right away, but if you keep at it anything is possible. Dream big, but start small. Try my laundry cleaners method or something similar, just to see some results

I highly recommend finding a coach/mentor that will give you basically one-on-one attention.

In order to succeed fast and great, a coach is needed. It's kinda like a traditional job, you get one-on-one training the first couple of months.

PM if you have any questions. To your success,

You start with something you really like. Let's say if you love writing... then you can build a blog or website with a niche of your interest and make great and original content for your site. If you love selling then sell some products by using amazon. If you want to do some multitasking, be hired as Virtual Assistant.

without interest u wil burn up in this long and torturing road.

Start where we all start, at the beginning. Read this forum and learn SEO, article writing and what ever you can. Get a feel for what you are interested in and pick a topic and go.

The hardest part is actually starting, so don't get hung up on that part. Just start once you find something that interests you. Make mistakes and learn.

Seriously though, ecommerce is a great place to be. You can launch a store for almost nothing & there's not really a ceiling on what you can make in the right market. If you are educated on the process, you can repeat it over & over again. I've been able to support my family VERY WELL for 6 years using the ecommerce business model.

Information products are always big on eBay. Even though they've banned digital downloads you can still sell them with CDs and DVDs. Also, make sure to put your business card in there somewhere if you have your website on it. Or you can put that information directly on the CD cover itself. It's great advertising to get people to your website.

My advice toany internet marketing newbie wouldbe to focus on one thing. Most peopledo this, give it a try, fail and throw their keyboard away.

Pick a niche, read, study, read and study some more, then practise and test until you master it. Once you master it, get your content out there to show people you are the master of your niche.

Once you have mastered one niche, move on and master the next.

Serious IM has no room for amateurs, there are tens of thousands of you out there. Become the expert and you can define your own market.
