Google webmasters, I went from 570 links to 120 over night!

I was checking my google webmasters as I usually do, I have been buying a few backlinks here and there, and well up until today I had 570 links to my site.
I checked it and the number has gone down dramatically to 120ish...
I can understand it dropping maybe by 20 or so but that much over night? I am guessing what happened was one of the few backlinks that I bought got there blog posts removed? Hmmm what are your thoughts any ideas? All my links from forums etc are still there the others are not though.
