How Can I markeyMy Friend's Talent?

Hi everyone,

I have a friend who has a great talent and is a leader in his industry. Lets pretend his talent is Origami...

And lets say he is the Origami "master" and people would love to learn how to make the stuff he does. He already does workshops and appearances teaching what he does although he hasn't recently. He would like to make money online instead of traveling.

I envision a membership site with sequential tutorial videos automatically made available weekly to members. Or maybe pay per view type tutorial videos. Maybe later take those same videos and make an iPhone app..

Here is the thing I would like to make this automatic, dividing up the revenue between me and my friend. I don't want to leave it up to him or myself to divide up the money weekly.
I'd like for us to get the payment from the subscriber then automatically divided (lets say 50/50) up and deposited into our accounts/paypal.

I was thinking of setting him up with me being an affiliate with a 50% return and only making my affiliate link available on the site. What do you think about that? other options?

I'd really love to hear everyone's input on this.

Thanks in advance!

I like that train of thought..since he is good at making the stuff let him do that part because he is good at it and you do the affiliate part and split the difference. That a good team concept right there. Then I think you should eventually teach him affiliate marketing where he to can help you with that and double your profits even more.

Double your profits? When he teaches him the affiliate marketing part, he no longer needs him as he can then do it all himself.

I'm no expert on this kind of thing, but if it were me, I'd start with a single product rather than a membership site, just because it's simpler. Later on, that could help to sell the membership site, perhaps offering members a discount on it. I'd also upload some free videos and maybe written content to make people hungry for more.

I would create a membership website if you have enough content to fill the membership.

Also build up a forum within the membership area to let members review his talent and show off a little of their talents.

If you can understand this page - it has an example that looks like what you want. I honestly think you method of making him an affiliate sounds good to me because that page made my eyes cross (LOL)

Well currently we came up with 30 or so videos he can make that would be about 7 minutes long and about 10 that are longer. So we have the content. Just wonderig about the backend.
