If you look at the product page you will see a section titled SHOCKING STATISTICS. I think the vendor is giving you a hint about how to promote the product.

I would title the post "Who Is Your Child Talking To Online?." Then explain the hazards of the internet. But speak like a concerned friend. Also, include photos of parents and children. Maybe one with a child at the computer alone.

        Hi,

Your site needs some serious work... from the Title up over the blue banner to the pop-up link boxes. If you look at the page, you will see the code that messes up your articles.

It looks like you copied the information from other web pages and merged things together to create content. It doesn't read well. Some sentences make no sense. There is incorrect word usage. The justified text doesn't work.

Your domain name is not really relevant to what your site is about. It sounds like you are offering just services or software to help you to keep adware and viruses off your computer - and that's not at all what it's about. It's about keeping your children safe online.

A better domain might be: childsafetyonline.com - find good keywords that relate to your offering and use those for your domain, your site title and in your articles and headlines.

Those pop-up boxes give people too many options - including links where they can buy credit cards and other things that have nothing to do with your site.

I would recommend you find someone who can build you a proper site. Then, you would do well to get PLR articles or ghostwritten articles to use for content and to promote your business.

Barring that, you will have a lot of learning to do - how to write, how to set up a web site and make it SEO friendly, etc.

  • In article marketing, it's very important to come across as an authority on your subject matter; or, at least, someone with more knowledge that the average browser. I didn't read very far into your article because trying to understand the flaws in grammar became tedious quickly. It ruins your credibility right off the bat.

My recommendation: buy a pack of PLR articles on the subject of internet safety, or hire someone to write them for you.

As well as english and having the right headlines that are catchy have you ever tried any campaigns like safelists and traffic exchanges? They can be effective to your link as well. Or maybe check the content of your site and see if you think its ready and visible to be viewed by thousands of people.

        Another thought...

If you want something to get off the ground immediately, go to your affiliate page of the product you're promoting. See if they have provided you with any content to use for promotions. If there isn't anything, contact them and ask.

You can put that information on your blog but you'll have to rework it to post it to article directories simply because they don't like duplicate content. And you can be sure someone else is probably using it too.

As soon as you have some good content on your site, go to the social bookmarking sites and submit it.

I would consider getting your own domain. Then you won't have to use wordpress.com. No matter what you do, I would also consider changing your theme, the default is pretty boring.

Keep adding articles to EZA and other article directories, 3 backlinks isn't going to be enough for any kind of serious traffic.

Another idea, if you aren't already doing it, would be to start bookmarking your posts and submitting your RSS feed to places like feedage.com

    Just a few basic ideas.

I agree with the other comments. The site is pretty "blah". Spice up the theme by choosing another (can be free) theme from wordpress. Add more content and features to it and definitely lose the wordpress.com url by getting your own. It will make it look more professional and people will take it more seriously.
    Good luck.

Okay, first of all, your site is going to get shut down by Wordpress as you
are violating their TOS. They do not allow affiliate promotions on their blogs.

If you want to promote affiliate products, you have to get your own domain
and put the blog on it.

As for the content, it's dry, dull, boring and appears that English is not your
first language. This is also going to work as a strike against you.

Your blog title and article titles are dreadful. You need to take a writing
course of some kind. What you have up there now isn't going to cut it. I'd
be shocked if you made even one sale...ever.

And none of the above takes into account what you're doing to even
generate traffic. The greatest blog gets no visitors if you don't generate
      traffic towards it.

There is so much that needs fixing, I don't even know where to begin.

If you have the funds, get a mentor. Get somebody to help you with a
business plan and put something together that has a shot.

What you have up there now has no chance.

    Hi,

One of the most important thinks to remember is the pre-sell. It's been proven time and time again that getting people to click on your affiliate link is only part of the story. You need to start selling the product to them before they click on the affiliate link. Think about more attention grabbing headlines (e.g. "The Shocking Dangers that your Kids Face Online") to capture attention. Also make the text more conversational. It's a bit newspaper like at present - you need to connect with the readers a bit more.

As highlighted by others above you would be far better off to get your own domain and install Wordpress - very very easy. The current coloring and layout is also very bland so choose a more catchy theme. There are some coding errors midway down your frontpage which won't help conversions.

You affiliate links don't stand out enough. I nearly missed them.

Sometimes the products that you are promoting just won't convert. In which case find an alternative product to promote with a better/higher converting sales page.

To generate traffic persevere with Ezinearticles. There's loads of other great ways of generating traffic and backlinks like submitting articles to other sites, social bookmarking, video marketing and so on and so forth. You'll find loads of great posts about generating traffic elsewhere on this forum.

However, before you waste your time on SEO I would suggest a short PPC campaign. It's expensive and you may lose money. However, you get immediate traffic and it's a great way of establishing whether a product sells and whether you are getting conversions and what keywords to focus on for your SEO campaign.

    Best of luck,

    Andy

Get yourself a better looking website from Joomla or somewhere.

You need to research your niche beforehand. When you pick a niche to research do this:

Use Google keyword tool to check if the niche is profitable by comparing the monthly searches to the competition. You check competition by typing your phrase in quotes in google and looking at the top right of the screen to see how many competing pages there are.

When i'm researching i punch a generic keyword into google keyword tool and pick out a few of the best performers. Usually they have more than, 2,000 monthly searches and less than 40,000 competing websites.

If there's a few good keywords then i'll take a bunch of them including the low search volume keywords.

      ------------------------------

I use Micro Niche Finder to help me, it's an amazing tool. i also use SEObook and keywordtracker to help. (google them)

      ------------------------------

Now you've got a niche with some low competition and fairly good amount of searches a month. (don't be worried if you've spent hours and still have not come up with anything, finding the correct niche is really important)

Pick your top keyword and try to get a .com or a .net domain with the same name or very close as well as some hosting.

Don't worry, these are all simple things once you do them a few times.

Installed your joomla website, bright coloured layout, very simple with a little sidebar. try to make all your content central, a nice cozy comfortable layout is important.

Now get your pen and paper or a word document and sort your keywords into titles for content on your website. these titles will be listed on the left of your website. Some of these maybe

      "How to ...."
      "Best Recipes For..."
      "Why xxxx?"

Now sign up to clickbank of commission junction and search for products relating to your keyword.

Make a list of keywords also relating to those particular products or find ways of connecting them to your content. Research the products longtails.

Now make some more keyword targeted titles for the products. You want lots of details about the product and how it can help the reader. No real sales talk, just factual good review of the product. Content that is worth reading. also list the manufacturer and the price.

      ---------------------------------

Go to No Doubt Marketing-SEO Articles-Article Writing-Web Content Writing and order some articles with your list of keyword titles. These are really good article writers, they currently sell $9 articles 500 words long all unique and well written.

This can be expensive, but there is no substitute for this.

Your front page does not have to be an introduction. i like to start the main page with "Why xxxxx" or "what is xxxxx?" and just go right into the niche with the reader.

Now once you have all your articles up it should look a lot more like some really comfortable information pages full of juicy content for readers. I won't go over basic SEO because you should know this and implement it where you can.

There should be links to you information pages on your topic/niche in the sidebars and some links to product pages too.

Now get it all sitemapped up - I do mine from here Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator and submit it to google/yahoo any anywhere else.

      ------------------------------------------------------

Ok to recap, basically you've just launched but not promoted a website that looks professional and has some really good keyword targeted content. This is the foundation of a good website. Getting a professional article write and a good layout combined with some well researched keywords will always = $

      ------------------

Now it's time to promote. The way to do this is not to think "how can i get my website to rank highly" but "how can i get google to trust my website?"

Websites are placed in limbo for their first 6+ months or until you gain googles trust. There are many ways to promote your website. Social bookmarking, blog commenting, article submission and lots more.

Personally i'm trying to steer my websites in a new direction. I want to build good links, slowly. I've had websites sandboxed for getting too many links. I believe if you go pure whitehat you'll go further than any linking strategy.

Visit my warrior forum blog for some info backlinks, my first post is also info about keyword research if you need it.

I've also been using Andy Fletchers do-follow search engines recently. It's very very good and fast.

      ---------------------------------

I'm really tired now, i have to go. There's so much more i could talk about, too much.

Once you have these basics down it's just a case of expanding (researching more keywords for content) and gaining more of google's trust by gaining the bets backlinks possible.

Your website should go up and up at that point.

One last thing, i never really bothered with backlinks at first which was a big mistake, once you've launched your website, most of your time will be spent building these backlinks. You will spend day after day looking for good backlinks. Just don't go buying 10,000 for $2 because it just won't work. You'd be better off with one PR 4 backlink from a trust website.

First, let me send my personal "Thank You" to Matt for taking the
time to provide so much help to the OP. No wonder you got tired, Matt.
        That's a whole book-worth of writing.

I agree with you about everything... and about backlinking strategies.

I'm ashamed to say that even when I finally "got it" that backlinking is crucial to business, I didn't do it. That was 2 years ago (8 years after starting my first site) and I'm now wondering why my sites have lost their page rank. Many of the original links no longer exist. Sales have dropped, too.

It is important to set in place a regular backlinking strategy because even though you might run around and get hundreds of links at the start, they will disappear. That's a fact of life - and it will happen to you. Sites make changes or disappear completely... taking your backlinks with them.

A good strategy is to spend a minimum of a few hours every week building backlinks... for as long as you are in business.

I went and saw the ezine article you have ( http://ezinearticles.com/?Using-the-...ent&id=1809420 ) and saw this:
In this point and time it is almost impossible for your child to go without the internet. The web can give you information about anything in the world. The web is crucial for learning and development of children. Internet surfing can be good as well as dangerous for children. It's the parent's job to prevent their child from encountering the dangers of the web. There are some sick people out there that use the internet to sexually hurt and exploit your kids. Internet pornography is another concern. Everybody is open to encountering porn on the internet even your kids.

Setting rules and guide lines for your kids is very important in maintaining internet safety. You should let your kids know about what sites he/she can or cannot visit. You should set up a set of rules and guidelines for your children when using the web, Such as never give out personal information on the web to anybody. Meaning addresses, telephone numbers or even school information. A child should never meet any one off the web without parent permission; parents should use good judgment when giving permission also. Never place any identifying pictures online.

Enforce good online citizenship, including teaching them not to do anything bad for themselves or anyone else on the internet. When used in the right way the internet is a good place to learn and have fun. It is a smart idea to find all the necessary resources to help you learn and regulate internet safety. These days you can a ton of books specially written for and to teach online safety rules. You can also purchase software to monitor your kids from emails, instant messaging, recent website views, and even passwords.
I haven't looked at your blog much but it appears others have and gave some valid points. I don't know much about having a successful blog or the business end of it by any means but I know writing and that article could really be improved.

Here's a rewrite I did that you can use (without knowing the keywords you intended to use).

At this point in time it is almost impossible for your child to go without the Internet which is why it can be hard to protect them from online dangers. Even though the web can give you information about everything in the world it can also expose your children and loved ones to the worse the world has to offer. The Internet is crucial for learning and development but so is the parents job of protecting them from the harm that can come from it. Knowing that there are those who prey on the young and seek to hurt and exploit children for their own gain, such as child pornographers and molesters, it is vital that parents do what they can to protect them. There are other dangers present in online pornography. There are some things that you may not ever want your child to be exposed to but that is easy to get to and can have a negative impact on them in the short and long term.

Setting rules and guidelines are very important in maintaining internet safety. You should do everything that you can to let your children know what sites they can or cannot visit. There are other things that you can do to help protect them such as to never give out personal information (address, phone number, or even school information) on the web to anyone. You should also discourage your children from meeting anyone on the web and only allow them to do so if you have done everything you can to check the stranger out and made sure that it is safe for your child. Also never let your child place any pictures of themselves online. This can easily be used to compromise your child's safety.

Enforce good online citizenship, teaching them to not only protect themselves but also to encourage others online to use good judgment as well. It is a good idea to find and use all the necessary resources at your disposal to help you learn, regulate, and teach Internet safety. There are many materials available to you to help you accomplish this. There is also software which can be purchased to monitor your child's emails, instant messaging, recent online activity, and even password changes. When used correctly these things will help keep the Internet not only a good place to learn and to have fun, but to stay safe while doing so. Learn more about keeping your child safe on the Internet and what resources are available to you to help you accomplish that at: guide to keeping your kids safe on the web-keeping your spouse at bay.
Take to heart the suggestions that are being made and don't let it discourage you. Make it the best effort you can using all the advice that comes your way and never be afraid to ask for more help. Your success relies on how you react to advice you seek and your ability to learn and apply it.

    Do well.

[edit] I'm not crazy about how that link showed up. Focus on protecting the kids. You are trying to do too much with that one thing. If you want to also reach a niche comprised of suspicious spouses then approach that separately.

All the above comments are authentic and definitely helpful, but I think I could add more.

I also have a parenting blog but unfortunately, the niche is not hot. So I find it hard to monetize it the way I want it. Although I still keep it, I created another blog that I can monetize with.

It is very important for you to know why do you want make money online. Quite obvious, but you must be specific. What exactly will you do with the money? You should also have your specific target say $30 for the first month, and so on.

By having a goal every month, you will have something to look forward to using your plan. And yes, relevance is very important as it will lead to successful link building and getting tons of traffic.

Finally, it is not wrong to have a good advocacy to help parents and children. If this is your goal, you just need to take the risk. But if you want to make good money online, you got to find out what will make you do it successfully.

And because this is business, sometimes what we want will not work out. We just got to go along where the money is.

    Good luck!
