Finding affiliates..Why does it have to be soo hard ?

Hello fellow Warriors,

Does anybody know how to get more affiliates for your own product ?

I recently released a product in ebook format with a sales page and so forth... but the hard part seems to be to get affiliates to promote it.

So here I am....Have spent my last money on the creation of this product and can't find anyone to JV with :-p

Any ideas? You can check my sig if you wanna see the affiliates page.

Would appreciate some advice on this. I will always help people who are willing to help me :-)

Best

Andy

The main thing missing on your affiliate sales page is sales stats.

Affiliates want 2 main things -

    - A great product
    - A high converting sales funnel

If you don't have stats on your affiliate page that usually means you haven't sold any copies yourself and are hoping affiliates will do the work for you ... they won't.

Every time I launch a new Wordpress plugin I expect to sell over 1,000 units in a short space of time. A large number of those sales will come from affiliates. But I never bring affiliates on board until I have proven that it sells myself.

This means I can give potential affiliates conversion data for the sales page, each upsell, the integration offers, the backend autoresponder sequence etc.

I can tell them likely EPCs based on their traffic source.

I can tell them how well different swipe emails performed for mail shots.

    Does that make sense?

      Thanks Andy ^^

      Very helpful.

Guess I have to do some more work then before recruiting any affiliates :-)

I am just starting out so I don't have sales to present just yet. But got a broadcast to a large email list and a ppc campaign sheduled for this week.

Hope to be able to post some results on the affiliate page then.

I think the main reason it is so hard to find affiliates these days is because of the sheer increase in the number of product vendors. This thereby increases competition and the percentage of affiliates have to be shared among the many many product owners..

Just took a look...You say its an 'ebook'? I'm assuming you mean a PDF. Here's what I would do to increase it's percieved value:

    • Provide different versions of the same thing. People no longer want to sit on their computer reading a PDF. The Kindle, Nook, Apps and other options are available. Create a Kindle/Nook version - it's easy and free.
    • Create an audio version. How many people have iPods? Alot of people dont wana sit around reading, but they might listen to their iPod in the car or walking or whatever.
    • Create videos! I'm assuming your product gets people to do stuff. Create some videos to show them, visually, how to do it. I'm not saying duplicate the content in videos, but use the videos to compliment the book. I.e. if the book talks about 'do some KW research' in the video you would be saying 'in chapter X we talked about KW research, here I'm going to show you how that's done so you can see it'
    • Add anything else you can reasonably add that might increase value. Stuff like 1-2-1 support for the first 100 purchases works well and might get things going...Heck you might even find you can sell the book and sell your support/coaching (eventually)

Most aren't doing some or all of these things! These days people have and want flexibility with the internet! I for one havn't gone through some products because I know I'll have to sit at my computer...and I do that enough by myself

If you did all the above things, you'd eventually find out which is the most popular/profitable method of delivery and then you just do more of that.

You might find people want videos....so then you do a membership site (Nate Rivers turned his ebook into a membership site quite successfully)

Why I mention these things is because your not just signing up affiliates. You need to sell it to them.

I look at your affiliate page and think....an ebook....$37. MMmmm that might have worked back in the day. Even the big boys sell 'ebooks' for ~$19.

As a potential affiliate, I'm thinking it would be hard to pimp out your PDF for $37. If it's got tons of intrinsic value however (options, videos, etc) now it becomes a different animal. Plus most of those videos are free for you to create anyway

Good luck and good job on creating the product!

I don't use Clickbank. I use paydotcom where everything runs through paypal. So it's easy and secure ^^

And the fees aren't horrible like on clickbank :-p

You may be to contact a few websites that are in the same niche as you. If they're building a list it's a great chance for you to make sales because you could provide them with 80% commissions to get some sales rolling in quickly. If you could contact just 5 such people with 2k subscribers in each list you will have great exposure.

How have you run out of money?

The ad for your product says: "Discover EXACTLY how to make $35,867 easily in your first 30 days with this fast cash machine"

If your product did what you say it can do, you wouldn't be here telling us that you've run out of money, and you certainly wouldn't have trouble getting affiliates.

So to answer your question... finding affiliates is so hard because you're clearly full of sh*t.

I'm going to be honest with you, its going to be hard to find affiliates when your product "will teach you how to make 40k per month". Theres no way you can deliver on that. Most good people are not going to recommend a product that misleads their customers.

It all comes down to your product conversions.
Increase EPC and you will attract a lot of affiliates. Split test your offer, add upsells, continuity, back end. Always try to improve and the affiliates will come naturally. Also offering a lot of promo tools can help a lot.

I've always found it easy to find affiliates, and I haven't even offered statistics or anything (I'm far too lazy, but I know I should...)

1: You create a product of high quality that delivers on its promise.

    2: You sell it.

3: You tell your client that they are in luck that they can promote your product and make money by doing so.
